Sunday Round-Up

It has been a busy old crafty week this week, I've been pretty busy with cards for Creative Expressions and just as they finish I'll be doing some makes for Kuretake playing with their Alcohol inks and punches, not necessarily together! Then we have some fun coming up to celebrate La-La Land Crafts Birthday this month which you won't want to miss!

So another busy and creative week ahead! I'm hoping to fit in some personal makes as well this week, something a little different perhaps? I like to throw something different in the mix from time to time.

This Sunday I don't have any links to share with you I'm afraid but I do have a couple of Magazine articles to mention.

First up is a colourful two card article in Papercraft Essentials issue 71 using peel-offs as masks to make backgrounds.

The next article is me in my element tearing up cardboard and re-purposing book pages, maps, buttons and safety pins for Simply Cards and Papercraft Issue 88 and using stamps from Make The Day Special.

And look I'm on the cover - Yay!

It's been a lucky month for me as I have three articles in three different Magazines - Papercraft Essentials, Simply Cards and Papercraft and Craft Stamper - I think that might be a first (and probably a last!) for me. Perhaps I should buy a lottery ticket!

Oh and I lied! I do have a link for you and this one was spotted by my ever patient boyfriend David. Check out these nails you Superhero fans!

Ghosts Of Times Past

It is Saturday and that means it is my day on the Quixotic Paperie blog and I have another Artistic Outpost ATC make for you this week. I'm enjoying making these inky ATCs!

This one uses the Artistic Outpost stamp sets Bird Of A Feather and Windows And Doors.

I used Ranger Archival ink Coffee to stamp the girls and the sentiment and Archival Coffee and Sepia to add distress to the make. The door in the background is stamped in Archival Plum on a map collage background that I'd coloured with ZIG Art and Graphic Twin pens from Kuretake.

The splash of colour was also provided using ZIG Art and Graphic Twin pens this time with some stamping.

Some further detailing was added with embossing and metallic rub.

All great fun but you really should have seen the state of my hands afterwards! I should have taken a photo!

ps. I've linked this up to the Artistic Outpost August referral program and whilst you are there also check out their lovely stuff.

Have an Inky Saturday!

New DT News!

Hey up folks, second post for today but don't worry it is just another quickie!

As some of you know already (and thank you so much for the congrats messages) I've got a new Design Team role with Creative Expressions and I've been busy working up some samples for an up coming Create and Craft show.

Got some very sneaky peeks, so hot of the press that you can see I'm only partly through my creative process as they are not yet stuck down as I make those final decisions of where to place things and if I need to add or take away!

A little peek of the You Look 'Scent' Sational and If The Shoe Fits stamp sets.

If you have some time then pop on over to say hi to the other new Creative Expressions
DT members.

Oh and check out the Creative Expressions Facebook page too!

Right I'll catch you all later, enjoy the rest of your Friday.

And super cute too!

If you pop over to the Pixie Dust Studio blog you can see them in action!

Catch you later.

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge - Tweens And Teens

Challenge time! It's Thursday and that means challenge day over at Pixie Dust Studio. This week the challenge is:

Tweens and Teens!

Bear with me on this one! What I thought was I would go for a tweeny teen that is into her patchwork and craft - what do you think? I've used Smore Candle Treats from the Pixie Dust Studio Winter release.

He looks very happy!

But then so would I with toasted marshmallows! Yum!

Don't forget to check out the weddings themed challenge over at Cute Card Thursday this week as well.

Have fun

Cruising Through Life

I thought I would try something a little different today for my Make The Day Special make. I've stamped out and coloured the Lawn Fawn Cruising Through Life bicycle stamp directly onto some designer paper.

If you look very closely you can see that the Basic Grey paper I've used has little bicycles on it - I thought that was perfect for the stamp!

I really like the sentiment that comes with this kit.

Have you tried stamping and colouring stamped images onto designer paper? What do you think, do you like the effect?

Have a fun and creative Tuesday.

Sunday Round-Up

A happy creative Sunday to you all! Yep, it is Sunday, it really does scoot around quickly, but then that is what happens when you loose track of time playing crafting!

I thought I would drop by this Sunday to share a couple of blog hop finds, the first being for the blog of Britt Kvilhaug - Life, Paper, Scissors. She has many gorgeous papercraft and scrapping makes to check out, I particularly love her 'Un-Art Journal' covers using Thickers very cool!

Next, you guys into your colouring of images have you been seeing the fab work of colouring 'without' lines? There are some fabulous examples from Zoe on the Make It Crafty Blog.  Or check out this lovely from  Melanie over at Paper Blessings. They just look so great, got a very illustrator/ artist look to them. Love them.

I'm a bit scared of trying this, don't think my colouring is strong enough but I'm going to give it a whirl LOL! I'll let you know how I get on and I would love to see your 'without lines' colouring so leave me a link to your make in the comments and I'm come on over.

Whilst I'm here I just thought I would also let you know that I have an article in the current issue of Craft Stamper on page 78.

I know some of you have seen it already and thank you so much for the congratulations messages you have been sending to me! You are so very lovely!

Ok, so I'm off now, but I'll leave you with one last link and this time it is for you nail varnish nutters (like me at the mo!). Need something to do with all that glitter you have been collecting in your stash? One beauty DIY tip coming up!

Big crafty hugs to you all, looking forward to seeing your 'without lines' colouring, don't forget to link up!

Snapfish And The Stamp Makers

Sounds like the title of a book doesn't it? Well it is the title of my Thursday evening from the last week in July. I was very lucky and got to do two things that I've been wanting to do for a while - visit The Make Lounge in north London and make my own rubber stamps and all courtesy of the folks at Snapfish UK and the Endelman team. Thank you guys. For those of you who don't know Snapfish is an online photographic printing service.

[update: I'm now part of the Snapfish affiliate program so there are affiliate links in this blog post]

Snapfish sponsored a crafty evening learning how to carve into Speedball Speedy-Carve with the lovely Zeena Shah to guide us on our way.

I went for a fruity theme and carved a citrus slice and a lemon!

I met a bunch of other crafty folk but we didn't get an awful lot of chat in, we were too busy trying to slice into the Speedy-Carve and not our fingers! Especially after a bit of fizzy wine too!

But not so busy that I couldn't fit in a cake between cutting!

I think I could get very use to this kind of thing!

We got to see some samples of the Snapfish photographic prints and the range of products they can provide like photos, printed canvases, calendars, books, mugs and they were all very good quality. I'm kinda looking out for when they do business cards and will look forward to trying out their services then and I will let you know how I get on with them when the time comes.

I would be interested to hear if any of you guys have used Snapfish before? What do you think?

But I'm definitely going to try carving more stamps - think I'm hooked!

Catch you later.

Friendship

My goodness I am finding this a very hard post to write. Some of you will know that I am a Londoner through and through and some of you will have been following the riots and looting that have been occurring across my city, that I love, and is even spreading through other major cities in England. I am just gutted, I don't understand how people can be so disconnected to the society that they live in that they feel they can do this to themselves and others just so that they can take their fill of pointless merchandise. What a piece of art the human is.

This is not a political blog, it is a blog about art and craft and making things so I shall show today's make in a hope of lightening hearts and to carry on.

It is Tuesday so it is my Make The Day Special DT make. I've used stamps from the Unity Bold Insight and the sentiment is from Unity Adventures In Happiness.

The background has been coloured with ZIG Kurecolor Refill Ink from Kuretake.

Hope you have a day full of Friendship.
