It's A Sailor's Life For Me!

Shiver Me timbers! Avast me mateys!

Got a bit of a Sailor's theme going on for you today for my Quixotic Paperie DT make this week. It's a tag using papers from Echo Park Life is Good paper collection

It's amazing what a bit of mix and matching can do for you!

Have a creative Saturday.

Challenge time again at Quixotic Paperie and this week the lovely Rowena has chosen:

Gift It!

Create a gift project - calendar/candle/trinket box/wall hanger/etc.

Here is my DT make for this week and I thought I would make a CD cover. Do people still do compilation CD's for each other or do they just share downloads? LOL! Anyway this is my compilation CD gift.

I've used the lovely funky Basic Grey Offbeat paper and a little bit of Prima So cute, with the oh so cute Eye Pod from Paper Make-up Stamps both available at Quixotic Paperie.

Enjoy your Monster Tunes!

Just Sailing In

After all my lighthouse cards last week, I am continuing with the sailing theme for today's make. Simon Says Stamps Challenges has a 'Things with Wings' theme this week so I thought I would use the Paper Make-Up Stamp Taylor from Quixotic Paperie.

I've matched her with one of the Magnolia Sailing background stamps and the sentiment is from the Paper Make-Up Sailing By kit.

I've added sparkle on her wings with a Sakura Glitter pen from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie (she has run out but will be getting some more in soon!).

Thanks for sailing in my blog today :)
Kim

Paper Make-Up Stamps Blog Hop

Welcome to the Paper Make-Up Stamps Fan Blog Hop!

If you have come to my blog from Glitter Goddess Meli then you are on the right track! If not then you need to start your hopping at the Paper Make-Up Blog.

As I am knee deep in Christmas cards at the moment I thought I would turn the very lovely Charity Stamp The Heart Fairy from Paper Make-Up Stamps into a Christmas Heart Fairy :) She is so pretty.

She has been coloured with my PrismaColor pencils, Sansodor and I've used Stickles glitter to add some fairy shine to her. I've used Glossy accents to add dimension to her heart and wings.

A little bit of Cuttlebug snowflakes made from vellum, white card, Stickles glitter, some mini-buttons and threads. The paper is from the My Mind's Eye Colourful Christmas pack and I've used the Bow-Easy™ Template to tie the bow.

You can get this cute fairy from Paper Make-Up stamps in the US or if you are in Europe she is also available from Quixotic Paperie.

Right your next blog to hop is Shana's Two Cute little monsters.

Have a lovely Paper Make-Up Blog Hop!

October Is Breast Cancer Care Awareness Month

So bring out the Pink Shimmerz paints! Make anything with your Pink Shimmerz this month, post it in the Shimmerz Paints Flickr group and you could win a pot of Shimmerz.

When you post it in Flickr let us know which Shimmerz you have used and tag it Pink! Each of the DT will be picking their favourite so there are lots of chances to win.

But whilst you are at it don't forget to post it on your blog to spread the word about Breast Cancer Care Awareness Month :)

I have a pink card for you today, it uses a bit of the My Mind's Eye Laundry Line paper, Prima Crystals and a touch of sewing.

I've used my Shimmerz Spritz to make the background paper and the flower.

I sprayed card with Bed of Roses and let it dry. I then sprayed a new sheet of card with Licorice Spritz and used a brayer wrapped in rubber bands to 'score' patterns in the Licorice covered card and transfer the Licorice colour in rough lines to the Bed of Roses covered card (you might have to click on the photo to see the full effect).

Then I cut out flower shapes from this card and distressed it to make a flower.

The brad in the middle is a large crystal gem brad that was a touch too bright so I dipped it into Shimmerz paints Coal and carefully wiped most of it off so that it just left a 'smoked' gem effect.

The cute Paper MakeUp Stamp Shaela Fairy was coloured with Copic markers and the wings painted with Shimmerz Paints Flashee Fushia Blingz and Angel Wings (also available from Quixotic Paperie).

I can't wait to see your Breast Cancer Care Awareness makes

Where Did The Weekend Go?

Good Morning Monday.

Some of you might remember a bit of a sneaky peak I posted last week? Well here is a bigger peak. The whole card is posted on Elaine's blog Quixotic Paperie along with a Tips Tutorial for using your Shimmerz Paints.

I often use my paints to highlight images and of course it is perfect for painting wings so if you want some tips on how to use your Shimmerz paints then pop along to Quixotic Paperie. Whilst you are there take a look at Elaine's beautiful cards! Stunning! And don't forget to check out all the yummy new products in the shop :)

So what are you guys all up to this week? I have some projects on the go, unfortunately nothing I can show yet on the blog. But I am hoping to get some challenges done this week - I wonder if I will manage? What challenges are you all hoping to do this week?

Have a Challenging Monday
(in the best possible way of course)

Monster Party

The monsoon season arrived in London yesterday, so it was lucky that on day two of our Stay-cation City Break we were taking it easy in the flat, detoxing with homemade pizza, cartoons and playing Lego Batman.

I even managed to make a card! Shock! Using this wonderful cheeky Paper Makeup monster stamp from Quixotic Paperie. Oh I just love him to bits - he looks to me like he has just been busted for doing something naughty like having a party at his Mum's house whilst they where on holiday, what do you think?

The yummy paper is from the fabulously cheerful DCWV Citrus stack and the fibres were hand dyed by my own fair hands :)
