Quixotic Paperie Challenge Blog Challenge No. 43

Challenge time again at Quixotic Paperie and this week the lovely Rowena has chosen:

Gift It!

Create a gift project - calendar/candle/trinket box/wall hanger/etc.

Here is my DT make for this week and I thought I would make a CD cover. Do people still do compilation CD's for each other or do they just share downloads? LOL! Anyway this is my compilation CD gift.

I've used the lovely funky Basic Grey Offbeat paper and a little bit of Prima So cute, with the oh so cute Eye Pod from Paper Make-up Stamps both available at Quixotic Paperie.

Enjoy your Monster Tunes!

Did you find your Prince (or Princess) Charming on the St Valentines Weekend? Oh look here he is LOL!

Prince Ian is a digital image from The Greeting Farm and I've matched him up with the beautiful Basic Grey Origins Papers which I got from Quixotic Paperie and have ruffed up a bit, ok, distressed!

I've coloured Ian with Copic pens and the background is coloured with Prismacolor pencils.

The Raffia Lace is also available at Quixotic Paperie.

I've popped this Prince Charming into my Etsy shop.

Hope you have a charming day :)

Circle The Tilda

So the weekend begins. Ahh lovely weekend. Tilda is here to celebrate the weekend with a Simon Says Paper piecing challenge. I've made a circle card for one main reason, I had run out of this lovely dark brown cardstock and the only piece I had left was this tiny bit! Bless! So with a little frugal jiggery pockery I managed to make it run to a couple of matts.

But why didn't I use another colour? Well I had already pieced the Tilda in these yummy Basic Grey papers before I realised I had no cardstock to match - D'oh!

Materials:
Stamp - Magnolia
Ink - VersaFine Onyx black
Colouring - PrismaColor Pencils; Sansodor
Papers - Basic Grey
Usual suspects - scissors, Double-sided tape; silicone glue

We have some news at Kaboodle Doodles - we have a fab new guest designer Chris from Mudmaven Designs. She has some blog candy up on her blog as well so go take a look. All very exciting :)

As I am on the subject of blog candy Wendy has some at her blog Paper Therapy (great name for a blog!) she is giving away a scor-pal!

It is very sunny here, no snow, although we did have a sprinkling last night. So again I'm looking forward to the spring time with the lovely Two Scoops papers from Basic Grey. I think the colours in this paper pack just scream spring to me.

The stamped image is the Country Girl Standing with Flowers from Alota and I've coloured her with some prismacolor pencils and Caran D'Ache pencils.

The ribbon slider is an acrylic blank that I've stamped onto with StazOn and painted with green, pink and white acrylic paints.

More Men's Cards

Carrying on from yesterday here is another men's card. You can see the theme can't you? :) This card was completely inspired by the lovely cards Nicky recently posted on the Sassy Crafts blog. It was actually the first one I did and yesterday's card was the second card on the theme, don't ask me why I showed them this way round - no idea LOL!

I had a fun time yesterday at my creative embroidery class. Last week we were up to our elbows in paint - it was like being in kindergarten art class - it was such fun. This week we were making collages and next week we will be surrounded by colour again as we dye textiles, can't wait.

And back onto the subject of Chocolate (LOL). I was blog hopping yesterday and came across Eva's delightful makes at Made By Eva. Mmmm Yum. I am so going to have try that out.

I'm loving distress ink watercolouring at the moment and it just seems to go so well with the Sarah Kay images. This one uses Basic Grey papers and embellished by cutting out the heart leafs from another sheet and giving dimension with silicone glue. Scissors...

Wahoo - I've found my scissors! They were hiding in my ribbon box and I looked everywhere for those naughty Minkeys :)

A card that hits two challenges' buttons today. Firstly it uses the lovely sketch over at Basic Grey Challenge blog and then it incorporates embossing for the Penny Black Challenge blog. Sorted :)

Details - the embossing used my cuttlebug and embossing folders and Core-dination card which I then sanded to show the core colour. The teal-coloured gems on the image are actually plastic beads that I cut in half with a button shank remover. The Penny Black image is coloured with Marvy Le Plume watercolour pens and cut out and shaped. I used a fine marker to add the extra stamen-like bits to the flower. Basic Grey Granola papers were used too :)

First weekend of the year - so what you all up to? Catching up with all those challenges then (like me?). Wishing you could find your scissors? Mine have vanished from in front if my very eyes. I've searched high and low. Now you may think that the other six pairs of scissors would suffice but Oh No they all have very specific jobs and I've lost my most used pair of course! LOL

Ok so just have time to post this before doing more scissor hunting! This one is for the new challenge blog for Sugar Nellie Stamps - The Sugar Bowl - which has a sketch to start them off. Thanks Girls.

More is More...

I might have gone a bit overboard on this one :) No excuse I just got a bit carried away. This card is heavy!

I've used a few recycled finds such as some broken jewellery that someone gave me, not as a gift don't worry. People now know that I collect anything, particularly buttons and beads, so when they don't want their jewellery, or bits of fabric they give them to me. My boyfriend even goes out of his way to bring home bits of ribbons or old pieces of card for me - I'm a lucky girl :)

Anyway I digress - the card also uses the Basic Grey Boxer papers and I've coloured the Sarah Kay image with distress inks which is fast becoming my favourite colouring medium of the month.

The Christmas holiday challenge over at the Basic Grey Challenge blog is 'Going Green' so I thought I would enter this card with all it's re-used jewellery, buttons and mesh :)

Materials:
Papers - Basic Grey Boxer
Colouring - Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Usual Suspects - Silicone gel; Double-sided tape; Paper trimmer; Scissors
Other - Broken jewellery; Lace; mesh; Key charm; Button; Hemp string; pearl brads
