Shimmerz Bee Fancy Dress Party

Good Morning all, start to a new week and I have some exciting Shimmerz news for you today.

Second bit of Shimmerz News is that the wonderful Stacey, owner of Shimmerz Paints with her hubby David (there is such a cute piccy of them both here!), has a fab-ishous publication incentive running for anyone to join in! How cool is that? The details can be found on this post.

Colour Create Challenge Week 13

Wahoo, I've managed to do another Colour Create Challenge. This week the colours are Orange, Green and Brown, inspired by this piccy:

What a fab colour combo, I would not normally have thought about them but they were great to play with. The optional challenge is to make the card a male card.

Hope you like what I've come up with. I've used one of Dustin Pike's images, coloured with my promarkers and copic pens and finished with some hand-stitching.

There is a Mother's Day competition going on over at InStyle Stamps where you can win a cash prize - $50 (or very slighly less for internationals to take into account paypal). You Better get over there quickly as the deadline is 11:59 PST Sunday, May 3rd. So you can still make it.

Materials:
Stamp - Dustin Pike; Stampendous Sentiment
Colouring - Letraset Promarkers; Copics
Papers - HOTP; GCD Studios
Usual Suspects - Double Sided tape; Silicone glue; Paper trimmer; 3d-foam; scissors
Other - Embroidery thread; glitter glue

Is It Spring Yet?

It is very sunny here, no snow, although we did have a sprinkling last night. So again I'm looking forward to the spring time with the lovely Two Scoops papers from Basic Grey. I think the colours in this paper pack just scream spring to me.

The stamped image is the Country Girl Standing with Flowers from Alota and I've coloured her with some prismacolor pencils and Caran D'Ache pencils.

The ribbon slider is an acrylic blank that I've stamped onto with StazOn and painted with green, pink and white acrylic paints.

Materials:
Stamp - Alota Rubber stamps; Stampendous
Inks - Stazon; Colourbox chalk
Colouring - Prismacolor; Caran D'Ache; Sansodor
Usual Suspects - Paper trimmer; double-sided tape
Other - Acrylic blank; Acrylic paint; Beads

Papermania This Time

I've been over doing the old Basic Grey a bit recently (can you over do Basic Grey?) so I thought I would play with some Papermania paper for a change. A card for the Magnolia Vs Stampavie challenge blog which has a sketch for us all to have a go at.

Details - The image is coloured with distress inks and Derwent Inktense pencils and I'm loving the paper circle flowers at the moment, I've distressed the edges with my seam ripper. Borders were added with a fine marker.

Colouring - Tim Holtz Distress inks; Derwent Inktense pencils
Usual Suspects - Silicone glue; Paper trimmer; Scissors; Circle template; Double-sided tape

Hey all, How you all doing? I've made a New Home card with the fab sketch on the Friday Sketchers blog and for once I've done it at the beginning of the challenge rather than at the end :) As you can see I have used my Cuttlebug again - not that I'm totally obsessed with it or anything.

Pink, Pink, Pink

I made my first ever RAK card a few weeks ago, it is a bit of a pink one so I thought I might enter it into the Hint of Pink challenge from Arty Girlz. It is definitely PINK :)

So this card uses stamps from Stampendous and is coloured in with watercolour pencils. Flower background is made with flower stamps and butterfly stamps from the same set. Tearing, inking edges, ribbon and using safty pins with beads finishes this card.
