Snapfish Printed Photo Cushions

I don't know if you remember but back in November I tried out the Snapfish Personalised Stocking Stuffer Gifts using some of my own artwork and shared how that went with you all here on my blog. I liked it so much that I joined their affiliate program so there are affiliate links in this blog post.

Well the very day that I was trying out the Snapfish gift printing service I spotted that they now do personalised sofa cushions. 'Oooo!' I thought to myself, 'that is a good idea!' So when the guys at Snapfish asked if I would try out their photo on a cushion service I was 'Oh yes please!'

I went with my artwork again to print onto the cushions, I thought they would be a nice touch for the daybed that I have in my studio. The cushion printing process is really simple on Snapfish and there are two sizes to choose from: 11" x 11", which is the size of the cream with circles cushion, and 17" x 17", which is the pink diamond cushion pictured above.

Both of the designs were originally art journal pages. I haven't actually shared the cream with circles page here on my blog but there is a peek at it on my Instagram account. Here it is in full: if you check out the picture on Instagram you will see that it is a double-page spread so I needed to remove the spine using Photoshop to get this continuous piece then I extended above and below the circles, again in Photoshop, to square it off to use in Snapfish.

The pink diamond design is actually from two art journal pages, both of which I have shared here on my blog before. I took parts of the pink art journal page that I shared in my 'How To Get Through The Chaos Jungle To The Land Of Creative Joy' blog post and layered them, in Photoshop, onto the art journal page that I shared in March 2014. All I needed to do then was to crop the picture into a square to use in Snapfish.

As I found out with the personalised gifts back in November, there is something about seeing your own work on physical, usable objects that is quite a thrill and I think it is a great way of bringing your artwork out of your journal and getting more use out of it.

What about you? Is this something you have done before or are thinking of doing? I would love to hear your thoughts on putting your work to use beyond the pages of your art journal.

Massive thanks to Snapfish for letting me try out their personalised photo cushion service.

Kim

Snapfish Personalised Stocking Stuffer Gifts

A few years ago I was introduced to Snapfish via a blogger event and since then I've used them to make our family calendar. I really love making a personalised calendar with our own pictures – one year I did a whole Harry Potter-themed calendar with Snapfish using photos we had taken from our trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour.

[update: I'm now part of the Snapfish affiliate program so there are affiliate links in this blog post]

So when I spotted they were looking for bloggers to try out their personalised stocking stuffers gifts, I thought it might be fun to have a go. Snapfish were kind enough to let me try out their service for free and here are the results!

Snapfish personalised stocking stuffers

What a great way to spread a little happiness with your own artwork! What do you think? So I used some of my photographs of my art to make some really bespoke items to give as little gifts to close friends and family.

You can pick all sorts of items to make with your photos and if you are super stuck then there is a really handy Gift Finder page, which can help you find the perfect gift to match your budget. I thought that was really useful!

My art printed on a mug by Snapfish

OK, so I had to go for a mug and I was thinking that it would be perfect to fill with your favourite art materials to share what you love with your arty friends.

I also tried the larger photo sizes too as these make quite nice visual inspirations to share with arty friends or even maybe get a Christmas art swap going to fill your art bank ready for the New Year.

Show Your Face Coasters printed by Snapfish

Perhaps my favourite arty gift idea is to make up some coasters with your own artwork and I know that many of you have been joining me in my community face art share Show Your Face on Fridays, well I picked six of my favourite pieces so far this year and made a face themed coaster set.

I'm thinking I might need to make a second set of these as I'm going to have a tough time giving them away, I'm a bit fond of them. So that is the down side of using your own art, you might want to keep all the presents!

A Snapfish ceramic tree decoration using a Harry Potter photo

Being big Harry Potter fans in this household, I could not resist getting a little ceramic decoration for our tree this year using one of our Harry Potter photos. That gift we will be keeping!

It is fun seeing your own art in different ways, have you tried it? Do you think you would? If you could get one gift made with a photo of your artwork what would it be and for whom?

Let me know!

Snapfish And The Stamp Makers

Sounds like the title of a book doesn't it? Well it is the title of my Thursday evening from the last week in July. I was very lucky and got to do two things that I've been wanting to do for a while - visit The Make Lounge in north London and make my own rubber stamps and all courtesy of the folks at Snapfish UK and the Endelman team. Thank you guys. For those of you who don't know Snapfish is an online photographic printing service.

[update: I'm now part of the Snapfish affiliate program so there are affiliate links in this blog post]

Snapfish sponsored a crafty evening learning how to carve into Speedball Speedy-Carve with the lovely Zeena Shah to guide us on our way.

I went for a fruity theme and carved a citrus slice and a lemon!

I met a bunch of other crafty folk but we didn't get an awful lot of chat in, we were too busy trying to slice into the Speedy-Carve and not our fingers! Especially after a bit of fizzy wine too!

But not so busy that I couldn't fit in a cake between cutting!

I think I could get very use to this kind of thing!

We got to see some samples of the Snapfish photographic prints and the range of products they can provide like photos, printed canvases, calendars, books, mugs and they were all very good quality. I'm kinda looking out for when they do business cards and will look forward to trying out their services then and I will let you know how I get on with them when the time comes.

I would be interested to hear if any of you guys have used Snapfish before? What do you think?

But I'm definitely going to try carving more stamps - think I'm hooked!

Catch you later.
