World Card Making Day With Quixotic Paperie

Celebrate World Card Making Day with a Festival of Favourites!

The Quixotic Paperie DT thought it would be fun to mark this year's World Card Making Day with a mini blog hop looking at our favourite Quixotic Paperie DT projects, products from the shop and card making tips, so grab a cuppa and join us!

We would love to hear about your favourite projects, products from Quixotic Paperie or your favourite tips so feel free to share!

One of my favourite Quixotic Paperie makes (apart from everything my team mates make!) is a card I made in January with the lovely Jerry from Paper Make-Up Stamps, so cute:

Materials: Paper Make-Up Stamps Jerry, Basic Grey Sugar Rush, Nesties

My favourite Quixotic Paperie Products:

Elaine has so many things I love that I was mooching through the shop trying to pick some for this post and I just kept seeing things that were on my favourite or wish list! I tried to narrow it down otherwise this post would go on forever!

Well I can safely say that I love pretty much all of The Greeting Farm Stamps but here are a few of my favourite things that are a little less obvious looking at my blog :)

I just love this stamp from Prima:

Something I thought I would not need but as soon as I got it I was totally in love is the Bazzill Jewel Templates:

Then there are the gorgeous Graphic 45 papers, such wonderful designs and such beautiful quality I want to frame them!

My favourite tips:

1. I often 'gut' my papers to make them go a bit further, i.e. if I am layering papers I will cut out the bits of the papers that are covered and you don't see - makes me feel a bit better about using up my favourite papers LOL!

2. When I am sewing papers I sitck them together with a thin layer of silicone glue rather than useing double-sided tape so that I don't gum-up my needle with glue.

3. To make my double-sided tape go further I will often cut a strip the length I want then cut that in half lengthwise with stick-resistant scissors - and there you have it two strips for the price of one LOL!

There is more to see at the following wonderful blogs:

Emma - Something Sweet
Kim Dellow - Crafty Makes (You Are Here!)

Enjoy the hop and don't forget to share your favourites on your blog (link back to us so that we can see them) or in the comments as you hop around!

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 132

Have you looked over at Cute Card Challenge yet? We have an interesting challenge for you this week:

Tic Toc!

Any time related themes are good, sentiments, designs, images are all a go. I went for a clock mask from Prima, a new acquisition from my trip to Ally Pally last weekend (cheeky grin!).

I've used the lovely Diane Duda Believe stamp from Sugar Nellie and I was hugely inspired to get my Copic pens out again after chatting to Jo and Kim at the weekend and then seeing Elaine's amazing tutorial over at Colour Me Copic

I have a bit of fear associated with my Copics! I'll admit it! I usually reach first for my Prismacolor pencils as my safety zone so I thought I would break out of the safety blanket and go for it! Practice makes perfect!

I've used a book page coloured with acrylic paints, distress inks and finished with some yummy gold acrylic. Oooo So sparkly!

More sparkly, sparkly! Oh and some Mulberry paper roses amongst the sparkle :)

Hope your day is full of sparkly gold.

Stamp - Diane Duda Believe Sugar Nellie
Paper - Book page
Ink - Memento Tuxedo black; Distress Ink brushed corduroy
Usual Suspects - Double-sided tape; silicone glue

So relax! Have fun and enjoy your day.

Challenge time again at Quixotic Paperie and this week the lovely Rowena has chosen:

Gift It!

Create a gift project - calendar/candle/trinket box/wall hanger/etc.

Here is my DT make for this week and I thought I would make a CD cover. Do people still do compilation CD's for each other or do they just share downloads? LOL! Anyway this is my compilation CD gift.

I've used the lovely funky Basic Grey Offbeat paper and a little bit of Prima So cute, with the oh so cute Eye Pod from Paper Make-up Stamps both available at Quixotic Paperie.

Enjoy your Monster Tunes!

I Give My Heart To You

Aww Monday, Monday. Start of a new week. I am determined that this week will have a lot of positive outcomes for my whole family as we are going through the mill a little bit. But Life has its ups and downs and it is how you face them and work through them that makes all the difference I've come to realise in recent weeks.

So today I am giving you my heart to start this week in a spirit of love and support for all those going through rough times, we can work through our troubles and come out the other side stronger.

With love to you all.

Another journal page today and this one is full of doodle butterflies. The page was all done with Neocolor wax crayons, just my favourite watercolours at the moment.

Hope you have a butterfly day

Weddings With Make The Day Special

Hi folks, I have a sparkly wedding card to show you today using my favourite colour - teal! There is a lot of texture in this card as I have used a textured card and then the painted calico and glitter glue, giving it a slightly unusual look perhaps?

Thought I would also tease you with some new stamps available over at Make The Day Special :) I know I am wicked to you, especially as it is Ally Pally tomorrow and I expect a lot of you will be going to the Big Stamp and Scrapbook Show?

These stamps are from the Lawn Fawn selection:

These sentiment stamps would match well with the banner stamps below don't you think?

And of course a little bit more spookiness for all you Halloween fans!

Have a spook-free, sparkly Friday.

Hello my lovelies, I think you are going to guess from my card today, and some of my more recent cards, that I am in a real Goth-Emo mood at the moment.

So how about cute Emo? Is that possible? Well this one is my DT make for this week's Cute Card Thursday which is a lovely sketch from Leann.

When I first saw The Greeting Farm Sweet N Toxic stamp kit I fell in lurve and have been watching the stock in Quixotic Paperie with longing until I could bear it no longer - so weak! LOL! All the sparkly 'silver lining' was added with Viva Decor Glitter Liner Holo Irridescent.

Have fun with this lovely sketch this week!

What Did You Do This Weekend?

Well it was a quiet weekend for us. We didn't do an awful lot, just relaxed. We did have some dim sum at one of our favourite restaurants, I had my camera with me so I took a picture to tease you all with the lovely food!

Then spent the rest of the weekend watching Harry Potter movies and eating sweets. Think I might need to do some exercise next week!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Art Journaling With Unity And Ippity

Hey Guys, I've been playing in my art journal with paints, stamps and inks and thought I would give you a peak at how it turned out. I know, I know it isn't a card but I just can't help myself - LOL!

I built up some textures with layers of paint, bits of newspaper and book pages. Then added the top colour with my Neocolor watercolour crayons. The stamps I used were the Stars and moons from the Ippity Moon Beams and Heart Strings kit, the sentiment from the Ippity What Matters Most kit and the grass is from the Unity Insightful Meadows kit. Yum, love these stamps!

Thanks for popping by and viewing my playing!

Quixotic Paperie Challenge Blog Challenge No. 41

Quixotic Paperie Challenge DT make to show today and this week the challenge was thought up by the lovely Emma and is:

How Does Your Garden Grow?

All about adding flowers and / or leaves to your make.

I decided to go on a bit of a steampunk / punk / emo  theme for my make this week using the wonderful The Greeting Farm Wild Sprout Eric available over at Quixotic Paperie. I've matched him (her?) with the gorgeous Graphic 45 papers from the Halloween in Wonderland and Christmas Past packs.

The papers were fun to distress and I 'rusted' a silver chain, safety pins and brads to embellish the make. The leaves are cut from a book page and I lightly glazed them with the Viva Decor Walnut Gloss Pen

The cogs are light card painted with acrylic paints. Got some more close-ups:

Showed a lot of details today! Think I quite like how this one turned out LOL!

Before I go just a quick mention of the new special stamp from Elizabeth Bell at SCACD. Elaine has her on Pre-order for delivery in a couple of weeks.

Have a fabulous Emo Wednesday.
