As Featured On PaperArtsy: How To Make A Fabric Pendant Necklace {Kim Dellow}

It's that time again! Time for a make from me on the PaperArtsy blog. It is always a pleasure to be on the PaperArtsy blog, they have such interesting bi-weekly themes that gets my brain a whirling.

This one is no exception, the theme is Fabric.

Kim Dellow Fabric Pendant Necklace for PaperArtsy

Ahh fabric, one of my favouritist (is that a word? I might have made it up, spell check doesn't like it) things! I love working with fabric and I love stamping on fabric too. For my make I've used stamps from my PaperArtsy Eclectica³ {Kim Dellow} 01 stamp set.

Is it weird of me to say that I just adore those hedgehogs? Am I allowed to say that as I designed them? Or does that sound a bit self-congratulatory or boasting or something? I don't know, anyway I think they are cute and I thought they would look cute on a little fabric pendant.

I've written a photo step by step for this make and you can find it over on the PaperArtsy blog so do go take a look. Also make sure you link up your fabric makes to the first post in the theme to be in with a chance to win £50 credit to spend in the PaperArtsy shop.

As always with the things I make and share, here, on other blogs, in magazines, if it inspires you to make something I would love to know and I would love to see it so come on back and link to your make here so that I can have a nosy and send you some social media love!

As Featured On Blitsy - How To Make A Mixed Media Neon Cuff

I just wanted to let you know that I have a tutorial up on the Blitsy Blog today.

[I do use affiliate links and there are some in this blog post.]

Click to learn how to make a Mixed Media wearable cuff

This week my Blitsy tutorial is all about how to make some wearable art. I've used denim and the lush Neon WOW Embossing Powders to make this cuff. I've also added more neon pop with Papermania Neon tassels and buttons. I just love how the Neon looks on the denim.

Stamping and heat embossing on fabric is really easy but if you want to see how to get a nice crisp, colourful image and not just lose the colour into the fabric then go check out the tutorial!

I'm looking forward to seeing your wearable Mixed Media art so do post the links in the comments below to anything you make or have made in the past.

Metal Filigree Flower Embellishments From The Bead & Button Company - Part 2

Back in December I was lucky enough to get my hands on some lovely Metal Filigree flowers from The Bead & Button Company. Well I have had a bit of a play and I wanted to share with you some of the results.

When I was deciding what to make, it just happened that I had a pair of David's old jeans to hand and the antique bronze colour just goes so well with blue denim don't you think?

So a denim and metal flower necklace was born. I used a glue gun to put it together, and it is mounted on a denim and craft Vilene sandwich to neaten the back, give the necklace some shape and for something to attach the chain to.

I love raw, fraying edges so tore the denim and either rolled it into flower shapes or made denim flower backings for some of the metal flowers.

But some of the metal flowers I just left as they are, or added a bead as they don't really need much else doing to them to look beautiful.

At the moment I'm wearing it as an asymmetric necklace but you can also wear it straight on. I think I prefer it to one side, but I just can't make my mind up!

Thanks again to The Bead & Button Company for a chance to play with these lovely embellishments. I know that some of you guys got some too. How have you been getting on with them and what have you made? I would love to see!

If you haven't already and you wanted to check them out then hop on over to The Bead & Button Company Metal Filigree Flower Embellishments page. They are a great price for a metal embellishment and you get loads to play with too.

Thanks for popping in.

Tea's Up! Bring The Biccies

I drink a lot of tea, love the stuff so I usually have one or two of these around the flat:

What to do with all that lovely cardboard? What to do? What to do? Oh I know! Make jewellery!

Of course and it fits so perfectly with The Altered Element's theme this month which is:

Recycle

I've made a little bezel pendant from my tea box and re-purposed a safety pin as well for extra recycling-ness!

If you look closely at the pedant you might be able to spot some embossing and I've used Acrylic paint to give it a metallic look and extra texture with a lighter colour smoothed into the embossing. I added a layer of glossy accents in the centre and a touch of Tim Holtz Ranger Rock Candy crackle paint on the raised edges.

The chess and bingo pieces are from the Creative Expressions Vintage games stamp kit and have been coloured with Tim Holtz Range distress inks

The safety pin has been distressed and then sealed with Mod Podge. By the way you can get lovely brass chains and bits and pieces from the Vintaj Natural Brass Co. section at The Altered Element if you haven't found it already.

Oh and I would like to thank my model Mini Manikin

Enjoy your day. Catch you later.

Ghost In The Machine

Do you scare easily?

If so then look away now! If not than I have a ghost to show you for the Eve of All Hallows. A perfect pendant for all things spooky she is the Ghost In The Machine.

Can you see her? Can you?

Look more closely, if you dare!

I've captured a real ghost for your enjoyment on Halloween.

Mwahhh ha ha ha!

(Scaring myself again now!)

Have a sweet filled day!

Jewellery, Jewellery!

Something a little different from me today, I've been itching to play with some jewellery making as I haven't made any for ages. I made this a few weeks ago and have been meaning to put it up on my blog for a while - so today is the day. I little bit of vintage style bling for your finger!

It uses Prima lace and a pearl bead available over at Quixotic Paperie.

Have a glitzy, glamours jewellery day!
