If you are new here I've gone a bit face art-crazy recently and am running a community share all about faces! The idea is to inspire, be inspired and to share our portrait progress week by week.
So if you have drawn, doodled, painted, sewn a face or done any portrait work at all then link it up below. It can be any style and use any materials but it needs to be your own work and not using stamps or stencils to make the face, unless you designed those stamps and stencils yourself that is!
You can link up old work too, that is no problem so just go ahead and link up then spread the word and we will see if we can get everyone making faces (pun intended!).
Ok that is enough of that, let me share with you my face this week.
This week I went back to pencil and practised some whimsical faces. Just a bit of doodling.
Then the doodling got a bit more serious as I tried to practise shading whilst watching the BBC production of the Other Anne Boleyn girl. It is supposed to be Jodhi May, luckily I wasn't practising getting likeness!
Then back to some random face doodling and shading practise.
That was my week of portrait work, well when I say week I really mean Wednesday!
Over To You...
Remember to link up below and any shares on social media or on your blog would be much appreciated. Inspire, be inspired and share the word!
Looking forward to seeing your portrait work.
Catch you later Face-Artinators!
Kim
ps. If your art happens to be from an art journal page then go link up with Julie Fei-Fan Balzer's Art Journal Everyday post. Or if it involves paint then link it up at Paint Party Friday. For any work using old, new and digital aspects why not check out Mo's new challenge blog Old, New and Digital too?
Super sketches
ReplyDeleteThanks Clare and thanks for linking up. Totally love her...just going to say that on your blog :) Kx
DeleteNice to see your sketches! Must have been tricky using a moving face as your inspiration! I like making mine up at the moment!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jacqueline. I cheated! We had a phone call mid program and the pause happened to be on a good full face shot, so I whipped out my pencil LOL! Looking forward to seeing yours :) Kx
Deletethanks for sharing your lovely doodles-something I should be doing more of too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda and thanks for sharing, just off to go see your work this week :) Have a fun week :) Kx
DeleteShading is tricky - really tricky. It can totally change how a drawing looks and for some reason my shading is always a bit of a hit or miss situation. Either it's spot on or it looks awful. I wish I was good enough to get it right every time.
ReplyDeleteBut you know what they say - it takes practice.
Hey Jeanet, I'm glad it isn't just me but I reckon I'm going to need a lot more practise than you LOL :) Thanks so much for linking up again this week. Kx
Deleteoh good another Friday challenge and just enough people to get around as some have too many participants..from a rainy Liverpool

DeleteWhat a great idea Kim! It's been a while since I did faces, so I've linked one I did in 2013, when I was still new to art journaling.

Exciting Face times ahead :-) xxx
I'm so glad you are enjoying it and you have been such a champaign of the idea too. :)
DeleteYou really show those emotions in her face, not an easy job but you managed it! I love the way you name your faces, I'm not very good at that.
So glad you linked up again, thanks Mo. Kx
