Make The Day Special

I've cheated a bit this week! Regular visitors/ subscribers to my blog will have seen my DT make for the Make The Day Special blog this week already as my Cute Card Thursday make. I would usually hold off posting the make and then post it as a double DT make - if that makes any sense to you?

Well I thought I would be different this week and give you a Make The Day Special new stock update instead! Emily has lots of new stamps in the shop and I know us stamping freaks need our regular fixes :) Otherwise we get a bit jittery don't we?

So to stop those withdrawal symptoms how about some Lawn Fawn Summer Releases?

OOooo...

Or can the very popular Flourishes sooth your furrowed brow?

Ahhhh...

Then of course there is the My Cute Stamp treatment to be taken twice daily after meals.

an easy pill to swallow!

But what is this? There is new Ippity as well, available over at {Ippity} Inspiration?

Well I think that is enough to cure even the most ardent stamper from lack of stamps blues.

Happy Stamping.

It kinda reminds me of the sweeties with the hearts and writing on - do you know the ones I mean?

I added a touch of watercolours with my ZIG Water colour System BrusH2O.

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday

Hi guys, it's Monday so it is my La-La Land Crafts post for the week, but this week it is
a little different.

You might have noticed that La-La Land Crafts has been going through some changes as it grows, we have a fabulous new website and an amazing new Design Team which I am so tickled pink to still be a part of.

As part of these exciting changes we are launching Inspiration Mondays and Fridays.

Twice a week there will be fabulous themed inspiration on the La-La Land Crafts blog and don't forget that if you want to play along then you can link your make up to the Customer Gallery although you don't have to follow the theme to be in with a chance to win.

So this week the theme is Summer Time Fun.

I've used the new Marci With Flower Pot and you can get her as either a rubber stamp or as a digi-stamp.

She is coloured with a mix of Koh-I-Noor and Prismacolor pencils and I've matched her with October afternoon papers.

To see the other gorgeous makes from the DT pop on over to the La-La Land Crafts Blog and don't forget to check back there on Friday to see more gorgeous makes!

Have a fun Monday particularly for those who have a bank holiday today!

I'm working on a couple of projects that I hope to show you soon. I've had my sewing machine and paints out for the first project which you will be seeing very soon.

If any of you guys are interested in using watercolour marker pens such as the ZIG Art and Graphic Twin pens to make affective textured watercolour backgrounds for cards then you might want to pick up Issue 85 of Simply Cards and Papercrafts

Look I'm on the cover too! Well you can't see it in the bag as the free gift is in front of it LOL! But still it's the cover!

I've nicked this close up piccy from Elaine - you can see the Paper MakeUp Stamps Nature's Song stamps I used!

For you guys looking for some interesting links to hop on over to this Sunday then check out the yummy Blog Candy over at Anika's blog Anikraft.

Also if you are interested in getting published Anika has a readers' challenges submission call on her blog for the German Magazine Just Stamps. But that is not all! You should take some time to check out Anika's blog as you are there - she has some gorgeous makes!

Well that is Sunday sorted!

I best be off to get some creating done.

Have fun sugarplums.

How You Getting On With Those Sardine Tins?

I've been altering sardine tins again, this time for a swap over at UKStampers. I loved the first one I did in April and this one was just as fun! I've called it 'In The Frame'.

At the moment I'm just altering the inside of the sardine tin as I like the juxtaposition of a little unexpected world inside an everyday object.

The gent is from the Artistic Outpost Steampunk stamp set available from Quixotic Paperie.

If you are very sharp-eyed you might also spot the gears accessory stamp that comes with the Kraftin' Kimmies Stamps Lavina stamp.

Now there wasn't really a Steampunk theme running through my head when I made this, I was more focussed on the frame within the tin. But I have added a chain to the mica plate and rusted some of the Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Sprocket Gears for the counterpoint to the framed man.

I used newspaper and Gesso on the inside of the tin and added colour with ZIG Art and Graphic Twin.

Have a fun Saturday.

Cute Card Thursday - Sketch

It is a sketch challenge this week over at Cute Card Thursday and we have the lovely Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps sponsoring this week.

I've used the fab Kraftin' Kimmies Stamp Nerissa from the Moonlight Whispers Mermaid collection which is available over at Quixotic Paperie. Went for a bit of a flotsam and jetsam theme with my make this week as you can see.

I've added lots of sparkle to the embossed acetate to add to the 'sea' feel.

Looking forward to seeing what you all do with the sketch this week. Have fun.

Ok - So No One Said I Had To Be Tidy

After tearing the edges of my card blank for my make on Friday, I'm now finding it very hard to go back to the straight line!

I had made the topper for today's make with all the texture, Unity stamps and mass of horizontal and diagonal lines but it just would not sit right on the straight edge card blank. So I just carried on tearing.

The wonderful quote and fabulous compass (I'm a bit into my maps so I love this type of thing) are a part of the All About The Journey Unity stamp kit, you can get the kit over at Make The Day Special.

Great quote don't you think? -

'Go Confidently in the direction of your dreams
live the life you have imagined'

- Henry David Thoreau

All this distressing and tearing? I wonder if it is a reflection of my mood?

Have a fun day you all.

Don't You Just Love Mondays?

A not Valentine's Day Valentine's card for my La-La Land Crafts make this week.

I've used the gorgeous Amour Luka and isn't he just perfect for saying 'I love you' to someone? Actually he would be great for saying 'I'm sorry too' don't you think?

Amour Luka is available as a digi-stamp over at the La-La Land Crafts blog or as a rubber stamp over at the La-La Land Crafts Store.

I've coloured him with a mix of Prismacolor pencils and Koh-I-Noor pencils.

Matching him with the lovely Pink Paislee 365 Degrees paper pad but I've also kept him quite minimalistic on a Kraft card blank and added just a tiny touch of paper distressing to break the edges up a little bit.

So what have you guys got on this week creatively speaking? I thought I would try to get ahead with some of my DT makes and see if I can be super efficient and all done for the next few weeks - yeah, like that is going to happen!

Have a fabulous day and catch you all tomorrow.

Kim
