It's craft show time! Crafting at Ally Pally here I come! If you do not know this show it is this weekend 17th/18th Sept in Alexandra Palace in North London and I am going to be hosting PaperArtsy's Make and Takes ALL weekend. If you fancy a bit of painty, stamping fun then make a beeline for the PaperArtsy stall and book a spot!
So what will we be doing? I've got four different make and takes to choose from over the weekend depending on what time of day you manage to book a slot. Here is just a peak at what we will be doing so that you can organise your visit!
Saturday Morning:
On Saturday morning we will be using Lin Brown stamps to make a Autumn-inspired home decor piece. We will be using layers of PaperArtsy Fresco acrylic paint and coloured stamping then finishing it off with a lovely foil rub-on adhesive focus. Perfect for this time of year!
Saturday Afternoon:
In the afternoon we will be decorating a handy tape dispenser with Fresco paints and stamping. For this project we are going for a cute and fun look and will be mix and matching Tracy Scott's new stamps with my new stamps. So useful for your desk or to give as a gift!
Sunday Morning:
Time to get our layers on and a Seth Apter-inspired canvas panel mixing and matching his new stamps and stencils from PaperArtsy and the other companies he works with. Think City-grunge and you have the look we are going for! Lots of techniques packed into one canvas.
Sunday Afternoon:
Decorate a cute mini-notebook for another useful item to have to hand or give as a present. This one will be using Emma Godfrey stamps mixed with my new stamps and if we are lucky maybe even some new stamps by a new designer you haven't seen yet!
Lots going on and this is just the make and takes! There will demos from Emma Godfrey and Leandra Franich plus some drop in guests too on the PaperArtsy stand and don't forget all the lovely new products!
Totally looking forward to seeing you there, hope you can make it!

Crafting At Ally Pally PaperArtsy Demos And Make And Takes
If you are going to Crafting At Ally Pally this weekend, 9th / 10th April, at Alexandra Palace. Then do come over to the PaperArtsy stand to say 'Hi'!
I'm going to be at the show all weekend with demos and Make and Takes for PaperArtsy. Here are some sneak peeks for you:
Saturday Morning - Make and Take
Come and play with the fabulous PaperArtsy Eclectica³ {Everything Art} 01 stamp set as I show you how to do my faux-printing style art. It is a great technique for making both art to hang on the wall or for working with in your art journal.
Saturday Afternoon - Demo
For my demo on Saturday I'm going to be showing how to add texture using stamps and paint so lots of messy painty fun!
Sunday Morning - Make and Take
My Sunday morning Make And Take will be focussing on using simple masking techniques to build an art journal page or art panel and I will be using my own PaperArtsy Eclectica³ {Kim Dellow} stamps for this make.
Sunday Afternoon - Demo
Sunday afternoon I will be playing with stamps and colour and sharing some of my favourite mixed media tips and tricks at the moment.
There will be lots going on and lots of amazing people are going to be demoing through the whole weekend at the PaperArtsy stand. You can also catch Leandra Franich, Mrs PaperArtsy herself, doing Make And Takes on both days in the afternoons. You can see the whole schedule over at the PaperArtsy blog.
Make sure you book a spot if you are interested in doing a Make and Take with Leandra or myself at the PaperArtsy stand.
Oh and if you can't make Ally Pally because you are in Paris this weekend, then check out Version Scrap as PaperArtsy will be there too!
Hope to see you at Ally Pally!

Crafts U Love Demo - Get The Most From Your Journaling Cards (Continued)
After the canvas on Monday and the Face for Show Your Face on Friday I was thinking I would shake things up again with a card. What do you think? I still have some Craft U Love demo cards that I haven't shared yet so let's do this!
This is another card in my 'Get The Most From Your Journaling Cards' series and I've used the Becky Higgins Boys Rule Project life card kit with Tim Holtz Abandoned Coral and Fossilised Amber Distress inks.
How To Make:
It is another simple design, I used a craft knife to remove a star from a journaling card and then I used the card with the star removed as a stencil to sponge the inks through on the card blank. The cut-out star was then stuck on top using 3D-foam with a circle and the date tab, both of which were also cut from journaling cards.
If you like this make then you might want to check out these ones too if you haven't seen them already:
Hope you have a great creative Wednesday.

Crafts U Love Demo - Getting Inky
Over the last couple of Monday I've been sharing some of the cards that I made for my demo at the Crafts U Love Birthday Event in July. So far I've just been sharing some of my cards using Project Life journaling cards so this week I thought I would shake it up a bit and share something inky!
If you are looking for a simple, but colourful make then how about trying something like this card, above?
It is easy to make and you can do it directly on the card front to make a single layer design. For this make I wiped the card with pieces of Cut N' Dry foam dipped in Tim Holtz Distress Inks from this year's colour releases, Fossilized Amber, Abandoned Coral and Cracked Pistachio and wiped across the surface of the card.
To get the extra texture flick with water and leave it for half a minute or so then lift the water off with a clean paper towel.
To finish the card I stamped the 'Collect Moments' stamp from the Finnabair range from Prima Marketing in Ranger Archival Jet Black ink.
So it is super simple but quite affective don't you think? The water droplet textures is what makes it, but if you have the inks in the refill form you could also flick some of those over the top to get even more lovely texture.
Hope you enjoyed this spot of inkiness today and I hope you have a lovely inky week!

Crafts U Love Demo - Get The Most From Your Journaling Cards (Continued)
Last week I shared with you one of my cards from the demo I did at Crafts U Love and I promised you some more, so today I have another share for you. I was working around two themes for my demo, (1) making the most from your journaling cards and (2) using the new Tim Holtz distress ink colour for this year.
Here is another card idea using the Boys Rule Project Life cards, this pack has a very retro-style and is perfect for making this card for a bicycle-lover.
Awesome! and really quick to do too. I've layered it up with 3D-foam but each piece is either part of or a whole journaling card.
Check out last week's Demo share blog post if you want some more ideas for using journaling cards and Project Life cards.
More cards to come over the next few weeks, so stay tuned!
Have a super creative Monday.

Crafts U Love Demo - Getting The Most From Your Journaling Cards
At the weekend I got to spend a lovely day demoing at the treasure trove of papercrafts that is Crafts U Love. What a lovely shop hidden away in Surrey about 5 miles from Gatwick Airport.
It was the shop's 9th birthday event and it was full of demoers sharing lots of inspiration and tips throughout the day, as well as holding an auction and raffle to raise money for a local hospice. We got to meet lots of people, play with new products and, of course, eat cake!
This means that I have lots of sample cards from the demo to share here on my blog over the coming weeks. Just so that you know, some of the links in this post are affiliated links and you can find out all about how I use them on my disclaimers and disclosures page.
What was I demoing?
Well one of my *THINGS* at the moment is using Project Life and journaling cards for more than memory keeping and pocket pages. You might have noticed that I *LOVE* journaling cards – they keep cropping up here on a regular basis; I've even made some of my own with the Cricut Explore and then there are the watercolour gem journaling cards that I shared how to make back in January.
If you are predominantly a cardmaker, you may be forgiven for walking past Project Life and journaling cards, thinking they are not for you. For starters, they aren't marketed at you and have been positioned for the memory keepers amongst us.
But we crafters are nothing if not a resourceful bunch and many of us do a multitude of different crafts – I do anything I can get my hands on as you might have guessed by now!
So why not use journaling cards for projects other than memory keeping and pocket page scrapbooking?
Here Are Some Projects To Try:
I've been using them for various different projects –
Or What About this Cute Card?
You can safely say I'm trying to get the most out of my journaling card kits and I was sharing some more ideas on how to do this on Saturday at Crafts U Love.
One of the great things about the packets of journaling cards is you pretty much have a whole kit ready for making into a lot of cards – add a couple of stamps and you are good to go.
Take the super-quick, super-easy and super-cute hot air balloon card pictured above. It is made using the Becky Higgins Project Life Peace, Love and Sunshine pack with a bit of stamping using the Penny Black Stamps Live It Up! Set.
I hope that has given you a fresh look at getting the most from your journaling cards!
More Demo Cards To Come!
Stay tuned for some more to come. I also demoed some inkiness at the weekend with some of the new Tim Holtz distress ink colours, so there will be some samples using these coming your way too.
In the meantime, what else have you been doing with your journaling cards? Let's see how far we can make them work for us, shall we? I bet they would make great party décor items and maybe even home décor items.
Time to get to work and re-think those journaling cards.
Thanks for popping by.

I've been using them for various different projects –
- If you get Simply Cards And Papercrafts you might have spotted journaling cards being used as backgrounds and embellishments in my article on cardmaking using printing on vellum for Issue 137.
- Then there's the planner pocket page (yep, obsessed with planners too!) for a tutorial on Blitsy recently.
- But also they are a fantastic way to mass-produce Christmas cards quickly like I did for the Blitsy Blog last year.
- They are also great for adding a quick background for an interesting embellishment that you want to stand out like this jean upcycle card.

Bits And Bobs Friday - Demos, Magazines And A Question
I've been in an all-absorbed frenzy of making this week to meet some deadlines, so much so that I am starting to question my sanity a bit. I've been so work-focussed that on Wednesday I mistook my door bell for the telephone ringing. Erm? Eeek! Yeah, ok so might not be that big a deal, they both ring and everything so I could be excused, except I did it twice! So yesterday I was extra vigilant as I was expecting a delivery but then it never turned up - D'oh!
Please tell me that when you have your creative hat on that you do mad things too? I mean is it just me? Oh boy! I think there is no hope for me.
I might try and take some time off this bank holiday weekend - got a feeling that I might need it!
Except I can't take Saturday off because I will be in Hobbycraft Woking demoing for Fiskars with the Fuse and I'm excited because I have a new die to try out (it doesn't take much to make me happy!).
I'll be there from 10am to 6pm so do come on by and say 'Hi' if you are in the area. Also there will be a 25% off ALL the Fuse products running whilst I'm in the store - Oooo! So might be worth checking it out and stocking up?
I've got some more demos coming up this month:
Hobbycraft Crawley - 10th May 2014
Hobbycraft Maidstone - 17th May 2014
Hobbycraft Croydon - 31st May 2014
Another thing causing a bit of a stir this week, this time in facebook, is the latest issue of Simply Cards and Papercraft (issue 123). Have you seen it yet?
Oh boy are you in for a treat, there is an Indigoblu stamp set as the cover gift this month which has made a lot of Indigoblu fans very happy!
My offering this month are some silhouette style cards using some of the Cottage Cutz dies available over at CraftsULove.
Thanks for all the wonderful tips and ideas in the comments for yesterday's Journaling post, it is great hearing about where everyone does their art journaling.
Ok, I have another question for you - do any of you use affiliation programs on your blog? I would love to hear your views on them, anything you have to share would be great whether it is positive or negative.
Thanks
Have a fun Friday.

Happy 100th Issue Papercraft Essentials!
Well done Papercraft Essentials! They are celebrating with some very useful tag dies with the magazine and free downloadable papers too. So don't forget to check it out this month.
Anyone going to be at the Croydon Hobbycraft this weekend? Come and say hello if you are, I'll be demoing the Fiskars Fuse on the Saturday.
Have a fun weekend.

Demo Time!
I've got a demo this Saturday with the new Fiskars Fuse Creativity System in the Crawley Hobbycraft.
See you there 10am - 6pm!
If you are in Sheffield checkout the Hobbycraft, Kath Stewart has a Fuse demo there this Saturday too. There is also a demo going on in Milton Keynes and Bournemouth, not sure which girls are doing which of these two but check them out if you are in the area.
Also have you voted for your favourite craft punches yet?

Back On Create And Craft
I've been busy making samples and putting demos together this week for my next Creative Expressions show on Create and Craft.
I'm on this Sunday (19th May) 12pm - 2pm in the Tool Shed! (But remember times can change).
You can catch the show online or via Freeview 36 | Freesat 813 | Virgin 748 | Sky 671 or even via their app.
And you can have a pretty good guess at what type of show it will be if you pop over to their website as they have the products up already, but don't go buying them all, leave me something to demo won't you?
Kim
