Looking For Some Ideas With Resist Stamping?

Hello all, hope that where ever you are you have some sunshine because there certainly isn't any here in London. But then if you are living here yourself or watching Wimbledon you would know this too. *sigh*

So I am desperately sneaking sunshine, please send some if you have any spare!

Meanwhile an update on my latest article in Simply Cards and Papercraft issue 99

It is a resist stamping article using several different methods to make a resist, not just heat embossing, so if you fancy expanding your resist stamping techniques it is definitely worth checking out the article.

The article has a wedding theme and uses the yummy wedding set from Lawn Fawn - Happily Ever After available from Make The Day Special I've also added in some Hero Arts stamps and some swirls from the Creative Expressions Funky Floral stamp set for good measure! There are some more ideas for using your ZIG Art and Graphic Twin pens too.

Hope you enjoy it.

Right, got to go finish a commission and some blog posts.

Catch you later.

Pinch And Punch, First Of The Month!

Hello Sunshine, we can but wish - it is raining here but in my heart there is sunshine, even if it is dark and dreary outside.

Do you guys remember this make from a couple of weeks ago?...

Well the challenge is now up on the Kuretake blog and the prize is £50 to spend in the Kuretake shop which is full of yummy pens and Basically Bare products so you ain't gonna want to miss this one! Deadline to get your makes linked is the 11th May.

Talking about Basically Bare products you can see more of them in the current issue of Simply Cards and Papercraft Issue 97...

I'm in this issue too, I have a funky father's day article using the retro cute stamps from Paper Smooches - Perpetual Bliss and Bube Tubes - both available from Make The Day Special. You can spy one of my makes on the cover - the one with the retro tellies.

I've got an article in Creative Cardmaking issue 41 as well that might pique your interest if you want to know more about the ZIG Art and Graphic Twin Watercolour markers.

I've used the pens in all sorts of different ways so hopefully lots of food for creative thought in your craft!

Right, I suppose I better leave you to it! Another cup of tea me thinks and crack on with some commissions.
Hope your day is full of sunny creativity and thanks for popping in.

Sunny Thursday

Ok, not so Sunny Thursday outside but Sunny in my heart as I have a couple of articles to look out for.

The first one is in Issue 77 of Papercraft Essentials where I've been playing with Acetate:

That's me - left hand side on the cover under 'Acetate Masterclass'.

Next is a chalks effect article from Simply Cards and Papercraft Issue 94 using my Pan Pastels and the yummy Paper Smooches Promenade stamp set from Make The Day Special.

That's me - the park scene at the bottom left hand corner :)

Hope you enjoy them!

Sunday Round-Up

It has been a busy old crafty week this week, I've been pretty busy with cards for Creative Expressions and just as they finish I'll be doing some makes for Kuretake playing with their Alcohol inks and punches, not necessarily together! Then we have some fun coming up to celebrate La-La Land Crafts Birthday this month which you won't want to miss!

So another busy and creative week ahead! I'm hoping to fit in some personal makes as well this week, something a little different perhaps? I like to throw something different in the mix from time to time.

This Sunday I don't have any links to share with you I'm afraid but I do have a couple of Magazine articles to mention.

First up is a colourful two card article in Papercraft Essentials issue 71 using peel-offs as masks to make backgrounds.

The next article is me in my element tearing up cardboard and re-purposing book pages, maps, buttons and safety pins for Simply Cards and Papercraft Issue 88 and using stamps from Make The Day Special.

And look I'm on the cover - Yay!

It's been a lucky month for me as I have three articles in three different Magazines - Papercraft Essentials, Simply Cards and Papercraft and Craft Stamper - I think that might be a first (and probably a last!) for me. Perhaps I should buy a lottery ticket!

Oh and I lied! I do have a link for you and this one was spotted by my ever patient boyfriend David. Check out these nails you Superhero fans!

Sunday Round-Up

Happy Sunday my bloggy friends and neighbours, it has been a fun and busy week here at Studio Crafty Makes and I have a bloggy wave and a magazine article update for you all today.

But before I tell you about them you might want to tune into some new 'Crafting With Kuretake' shows on Create and Craft tomorrow, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm, showcasing some yummy ZIG pens. I'll show you some of my recent samples I made for Kuretake in the week but thought you might just want a heads-up for the shows. In the last 'Crafting With Kuretake' shows Steph did some great demos with the pens, worth watching just for the demos.

You can watch the shows on Freeview 36; Freesat 813; Sky 671 or online at the Create and Craft website.

So the next bit of news and one to look out for is Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine Issue 86

I've got a social network inspired article in this month to help you get down with the kids - said whilst throwing some gang signs of course. Luckily you can not see me doing that as it always causes much hilarity from boyfriend who despairs at my total lack of street cred!

Luckily I hangout on Facebook and Twitter enough to keep up to date with what is going on in the world LOL!

Hope you enjoy the article!

So it is Sunday, time for some hopping and I have another fabulous blog to share with you this week. Have you seen the lovely blog Bumblebees and Butterflies belonging to Brenda Brown? Brenda has a lovely mix of grunge, inky and mixed media papercraft projects on her blog. Check out her lovely ATC using the Collage Background technique, love the way all the layers come together and fabulous use of vellum!

Have a wonderful Sunday all you wonderful crafty fluff bundles!

Sunday Round-Up

Ahh Sunday, Sunday and what are you all up to this Sunday?

Hopefully something fun and creative?

I'm working on a couple of projects that I hope to show you soon. I've had my sewing machine and paints out for the first project which you will be seeing very soon.

If any of you guys are interested in using watercolour marker pens such as the ZIG Art and Graphic Twin pens to make affective textured watercolour backgrounds for cards then you might want to pick up Issue 85 of Simply Cards and Papercrafts

Look I'm on the cover too! Well you can't see it in the bag as the free gift is in front of it LOL! But still it's the cover!

I've nicked this close up piccy from Elaine - you can see the Paper MakeUp Stamps Nature's Song stamps I used!

For you guys looking for some interesting links to hop on over to this Sunday then check out the yummy Blog Candy over at Anika's blog Anikraft.

Also if you are interested in getting published Anika has a readers' challenges submission call on her blog for the German Magazine Just Stamps. But that is not all! You should take some time to check out Anika's blog as you are there - she has some gorgeous makes!

Well that is Sunday sorted!

I best be off to get some creating done.

Have fun sugarplums.

Sunday Round-Up

Sunday, Sunday, the week is ending and a fresh one is about to begin.

So tell me, how was your week? Did you accomplish everything you set out to do at the start of the week? What plans do you have for the new week?

It has been a very busy week for me, been finishing some DT work, unfortunately I can't show it to you just yet. I've also been playing with paint and ZIG pens from Kuretake and I hope to show you some of that next week.

If you have got your new copy of Simply Cards and Papercraft Issue 80 have a look at page 73, you might recognise little old me with some shabby chic cards using funky foam! They were great fun to do!

Simply Cards & Papercraft 80

Another little toot - Toot Toot! My blog was mentioned in the recent issue of Popular Crafts which was a very nice surprise!

Before I go don't forget my blog candy, you only have until tomorrow (17th January) to sign up!

Enjoy the rest of your day and your planning for the week ahead.
