Industrial Grunge On A Saturday

I've been getting into industrial grunge with Tando Creative alterables. Elaine has lots of fabulous Alterable items in Quixotic Paperie that are great fun to play with!

I love getting a little messy with paints so this is the perfect make for me with painted jute and grunged foil!

Easy to do, cover some card with kitchen foil and emboss with an embossing folder through your die-cutting machine.

Fun bit, add black paint! Messy!

Wipe off most of the paint to give the grunged look.

You can do anything you like with the Tando Creative items, paint them, cover them with papers all sorts of things. I've added texture with Golden Molding paste on mine and then painted it with acrylic paints.

Finishing by adding a dollop of red paint and Glossy Accents to the two top hearts.

If you are into birdhouses then check out the Tando Creative ones - so cute!

Enjoy playing!

Itty Bitty Christmas Decoration

A Christmas Decorations for you today and I've been playing with my melt pot and paints to make this little fellow. It makes a lovely vintage tree decoration I thought?

I've used the Unity Itty Bitty Joy stamp which you can get over at Make The Day Special. The Itty Bitty stamps aren't small as the name suggests this one is just under ATC size (2.5 inch by 3.5 inch)

I would love to see your Christmas Decorations! Let me know if you have any on your blog and I will pop by to take a look.

Thanks for popping in today.

Tea's Up! Bring The Biccies

I drink a lot of tea, love the stuff so I usually have one or two of these around the flat:

What to do with all that lovely cardboard? What to do? What to do? Oh I know! Make jewellery!

Of course and it fits so perfectly with The Altered Element's theme this month which is:

Recycle

I've made a little bezel pendant from my tea box and re-purposed a safety pin as well for extra recycling-ness!

If you look closely at the pedant you might be able to spot some embossing and I've used Acrylic paint to give it a metallic look and extra texture with a lighter colour smoothed into the embossing. I added a layer of glossy accents in the centre and a touch of Tim Holtz Ranger Rock Candy crackle paint on the raised edges.

The chess and bingo pieces are from the Creative Expressions Vintage games stamp kit and have been coloured with Tim Holtz Range distress inks

The safety pin has been distressed and then sealed with Mod Podge. By the way you can get lovely brass chains and bits and pieces from the Vintaj Natural Brass Co. section at The Altered Element if you haven't found it already.

Oh and I would like to thank my model Mini Manikin

Enjoy your day. Catch you later.

The Altered Element Magic Circle

Hi folks, I have my last DT make for this Month's Enchanted Challenge over at The Altered Element blog. I have a loose interpretation of the challenge for you! Bear with me :) Ok so if you think Enchanted and think of a magical interpretation, then side step to Magic as a subject and slight of hand tricks then you have the inspiration for my make today - which I have called 'Magic Circle' LOL! Ok so it is a little loosely based on 'Enchanted' - I did warn you!

I've used stamps from two of the Creative Expressions stamp sets: Vintage Games and Vintage Aviation. I've also been heavy with the old Rangers Tim Holtz Distress inks for this one!

Ooo and some exciting news - I was picked as a Ginger Gem over at Gingersnap Creations for my Neutrals Plus One challenge entry! Thanks Guys you made my day!

Have a wonderfully magical Saturday!

Quixotic Paperie Challenge Blog Challenge No. 41

Quixotic Paperie Challenge DT make to show today and this week the challenge was thought up by the lovely Emma and is:

How Does Your Garden Grow?

All about adding flowers and / or leaves to your make.

I decided to go on a bit of a steampunk / punk / emo  theme for my make this week using the wonderful The Greeting Farm Wild Sprout Eric available over at Quixotic Paperie. I've matched him (her?) with the gorgeous Graphic 45 papers from the Halloween in Wonderland and Christmas Past packs.

The papers were fun to distress and I 'rusted' a silver chain, safety pins and brads to embellish the make. The leaves are cut from a book page and I lightly glazed them with the Viva Decor Walnut Gloss Pen

The cogs are light card painted with acrylic paints. Got some more close-ups:

Showed a lot of details today! Think I quite like how this one turned out LOL!

Before I go just a quick mention of the new special stamp from Elizabeth Bell at SCACD. Elaine has her on Pre-order for delivery in a couple of weeks.

Have a fabulous Emo Wednesday.

Another Mixed Media Card

Some more playing with texture for my make today. For this one I've painted some calico, ripped out book pages and torn up packaging. I love getting messy! For the focal point of this piece I have used the gorgeous stamps from the July Unity Store Kit Key To Joy available over at Make The Day Special.

I did think that the butterfly and sentiment worked nicely together, what do you think? If you take the music notes on the butterfly as the 'Master Key'? Is that pushing it?

Well hope you have a musical day.

Looking For Some Summer Sun

My card today is a plea to the Summer weather. It seems to be a bit all other the place at the moment, so I thought a card to the weather might help!

As you can see I am going through a bit of a corrugated card and painted fabric phase at the moment! The stamps I've used are from the wonderful Unity Adventures in Happiness store kit which you can get from Make The Day Special.

Hope you have a day of sunshine.
