Two Free Projects For The Weekend

Oh yeah it is Sharing Friday.

Yep, you know it is Friday so it must be *Sharing Time*! What will you be up to this weekend? Ok, let's ignore what I will be up to as it will be mostly cleaning *boo*. But what about you? Got any crafty or arty plans for the weekend?

You know I love looking at blogs for some inspiration, I know you do too and it suddenly hit me, myself and the other designers with Practical Publishing International Limited have loads of free projects over at the Papercraft Magazine website and even though I always share them on my Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter I haven't really shared them on my blog much! D'oh!

Seems obviously really. Me slow on uptake!

Free Craft Inspiration

So if you are looking for some weekend crafting inspiration how about these two for starters? Both of them are mine but other designers are available!

For all you happy snappers (yep, I'm looking at you!) check out my bonus make with step by steps for Simply Cards and Papercraft issue 128 on the website.

I want all those cameras in the background of that photo! In the magazine there is even more inspiration for making the most out of those gorgeous pics you take of random things when you are out and about.

But are you ready for Christmas yet? Are YOU ready for CHRISTMAS?

Argghhh! I mean it is only erm, so many days (someone count the days, I can't do it), I mean not many days at all, really, if you think about it. It's practically Winter already. Admittedly a warm Autumnal Winter, but blink and it will be Christmas Eve, so get yourself ready now with my Seasonal Table Décor ideas in Papercraft Essentials issue 112

How about this Cracker of an idea (get it? Cracker? Sheesh, lucky I don't earn my living by trying to engage an audience in a fun and interesting way on a blog or something isn't it? Mmm?! Oh dear, beans on toast again! What do you mean we can't afford the bread?).

The template for the cracker and the Winter Rose are on the Papercraft Magazine website free to download.

So what will you be doing this weekend? Do let me know and if you want to share the results with me do link-up or leave a comment. I'm having lots of fun with Instagram at the moment so come and say hi if you are on it!

You are ok, my rubbish jokes and I are going now, you can go about your business.

  1. Loving your jokes Kim, keep up the good words and puns!!! Saw both these projects and they look fantastic, agree with you would love to own all those different cameras. Glad you are now posting these projects on your Blog.

I was with Instagram before Facebook purchased them, i left as soon as i heard as i don't like FB or anything they are attached to. Am hopeful some of the chat about them purchasing Twitter are nonsense as i wouldn't want to lose that also.

Some crafting this weekend, catching up with Downton Abbey as i forgot it was back on, horror of horrors!!! and probably some lovely food. You have a wonderful weekend :-) xxx

    1. You are too kind (and patient with my bad jokes!) Glad you liked the articles! Those cameras are lovely, I'm so jealous that they can get their hands on such fab things for the magazine!

You know that is exactly why I stayed away from Instagram for so long. I got a smartphone quite late on and by the time I had one Facebook had bought them up. I'm not FB's biggest fan either but for the work I do it is a requirement, unfortunately. I don't agree with many of the policies on FB including their copyright policy, but they have kept the you own your photos rights on Instagram the same as they were before (as far as I know!) so I'm giving it a go. Yikes! I hope those are just rumours about Twitter!

Have a super duper Downton-crafty weekend :) Kx

    2. You are surely joking that FB plans to buy twitter? I refuse to use anything to do with FB. Even having never been a member of FB I got tons of mails from them that lots of people want to be my friend. How does that go?

People don't realise what damage they do to themselves and others with their posts and pictures. Maybe I am too old to understand that, but in my days people talked in person instead of sharing their most private things in public.

I also refuse to get a smartphone/i-phone as I do not have the need to check my email in the supermarket. It is way beyond me what people need that for. My car has GPS should I ever gget lost (but women never get lost as they ask for directions what men never do LOL), I have a camera to make pictures, I do have a PC, so what? I need my mobily phone just for emergencies when I go out and need help because I am disabled. My mobile phone cost just about 20 GBP/25 €.

      Enjoy your cleaning :-)
I am off to do the washing up.

    3. Ahh Hannah, life has changed so much with social media and smartphones hasn't it? I both love and hate it! I love it because it lets me interact with people I would never get a chance to interact with before. But on the down side it is sooo addictive and soaks up so much time you really have to keep it under control.

Yep, I am finding myself 'needing' to check my email on the go when I don't really need to at all but once you have the ability to do it you do, you just can't help yourself! So best not to start and go and do something more useful instead LOL!

Hope you are having a good weekend and got the washing up done. I'm taking a break from cleaning with a cup of tea, got to get back to it in a moment.

  2. Saw these super makes in the magazines Kim. Glad you are sharing them on your blog as I'm another one who doesn't FB, Tweet, Pin or Instagram.

Not a lot of crafting going on here at the moment as I'm taking Mum to collect our new car (fingers crossed all goes smoothly as the process hasn't been very smooth so far).

    Have a good weekend

    1. People always say the blog is dead but I so don't believe it! Yay for blogs! I'm glad I posted it Toni, I don't know why I haven't thought of it before. Glad you liked the makes in the mags too.

Hope that the car collecting all went well, sounds exciting! Still cleaning here, well, when I say 'still' I really mean that I've just started. Was meant to start it yesterday but was too lazy LOL! So full on, boring, cleaning and unpacking today!

  3. FYI, our photographer loved getting those cameras out for the Simply Cards feature, Kim! I was tempted to see if I could steal one for myself. ;)
Thank you so much for sharing your creativity with us! This weekend sees me working on issue 130 of Simply Cards & Papercraft - it's never ending! :D

    1. Ahh, you think you could borough one or two of the cameras? :) That would be so brilliant! It would be super cool if you could hire them out or something!

Hope Simply Cards and Papercraft 130 went well over the weekend and you got lots done, but also hope that you haven't been working too hard all weekend and you got a bit of down time too.
