A Textured Rose By Any Other Name

As you can probably guess I did make quite a lot of samples for the Create and Craft show the other week, so I thought I would share another one today as I'm working on a couple of commissions that I can't show just yet.

This one is using one of the flowers and sentiments from the Creative Expressions Floral Splendour stamps.

But I've also done a bit of stitching on this card too with the gorgeously tactile faux-suede leaves ribbon.

I've used a slightly different method to colour the rose for this card. I've used the Cosmic Shimmer Watercolours again but rather than using them as block colour as I did with the Poppy Card, where you get a bright pop of colour and shine, I've used them more like how I would use ordinary watercolours and you get a much more subtle effect with some texture and a 'quieter' mica shine.

Ok, so I better get back to finishing off these commissions.

Catch you later Artinators.
Kim

  12. I only managed to catch one of the shows Kim and that was a lucky accident as I just switched channels to see what was on and got a lovely surprise. I quickly pressed record so I have rewatched several times already (and it means I can f/forward the sales pitch ;D). I thoroughly enjoyed the show and your style made a lovely addition to the very few I like to watch on there. I shall be watching out for more.
