It's bit of a snowy Saturday here in London but I don't mind as I have lots of work to do to keep me busy and warm. One of the things I've been using a lot of this week is acetate, so I thought I would use some for my Creative Expressions make as well.
I gave you a little sneak peek at the stamps the DT are working on for the month, we have two sets, the Hearts Entwined and Special Sentiments and you can, of course, see more from the rest of the DT if you pop on over to the Creative Expressions Facebook page and visit the DT's amazing personal blog.
I've used the Hearts Entwined set for this little mixed media panel.
It only measures around 3 inches square and is an old sewing patten collage layered with Gesso, stamping with the Creative Expressions Texture Plate, watercolour dripping and some doodling.
I've stamped the heart out on acetate then carefully cut along the edge of the heart in the middle with a craft knife so that I could bend the stamped areas into wings. I doodled some lines on the heart and coloured the back with Ranger Adirondack Raison and Snow Cap Alcohol inks.
Just as an aside, I've just recently bought some Snow Cap Alcohol ink and I love it! I've used metallic mixative alcohol inks before but not the Snow Cap one, but now I'm a new devotee! It is great! I keep finding myself using it for all sorts of things.
I've even used it on the sentiment, mainly because I decided to add the sentiment at the end and could not be bothered to wait for some Gesso to dry, so I quickly wiped some Snow Cap alcohol ink over a piece of collaged card.
Do you use the Snow Cap mixative alcohol ink? What do you use it for?
There you go, a little bit of mixed media fun.
Have a lovely warm Saturday.
