La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday - {Wish Upon A Star}

Well it is Monday again and I often think that there should be a little Monday start-up tune like the start-up tune when you turn on the computer. A little Monday jingle, what do you think?

What would your Monday jingle sound like? Full of excitement and noise or perhaps slow and steady ready to take on the week? I think mine would be a random cacophony of Monday 'YAY! Let's get this week started' noise.

Now that is in your head and you are thinking about what your Monday Jingle might be here is my start the week card for La-La Land Crafts.

I've used Beach Luka and you will spot the Heart Fence Die too.

I've used the Heart Fence die to make cute little tags.

The little starfish come with Beach Luka.

There is more starry inspired makes on the La-La Land Crafts blog today and on Friday and you can get lots of La-La Land Crafts news from their Company page and Group page on Facebook as well as their Twitter feed. The final link-up you should know about is the Customer Gallery where if you link your makes you could win some La-La Land Crafts yummies.

Ok, so you have had enough time to think what your Monday jingle would be - so do share!

Catch you later.

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday

Hello Monday hoppers it is La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday and this week the inspiration is Flowers, so a nice easy one this week!

I've gone floral Kimono with La-La Land Crafts Kimono Marci and the La-La Land Crafts Lotus die.

She is coloured with Prismacolor pencils and I doodled the flowers on her Kimono.

I recently invested in some more skin colours, I thought I would expand my tones a little. I usually just use seashell pink, peach, pink and burnt ochre, for light skin but for this lady I've used beige instead of peach and a touch of rosy beige instead of pink.

So if you fancy a bit of flower arranging on your cards don't forget to pop on by the La-La Land Crafts blog today and Friday to check out the DT's Floral makes and remember to link your makes up to the Customer Gallery too. Then there is the La- La Land Crafts Facebook page and Twitter page to check out too.

Have a lovely Monday.

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration - {Back To School}

Hey La-La Land Crafts fans we will be going back to school soon - I know! I don't believe it either, but yes it is that time of year again. Time to go get some new pens and pencils and notebooks! YAY! That is the only bit of going back to school I ever liked!

But before you rush off to raid WHSmiths and any other local stationery shops for all the latest back to school accessories, don't forget to checkout the La-La Land Crafts Back to School theme over on the blog.

For some reason I just love colouring that apple - I have no idea why. It just feels very Zen when I colour it. Zen and the Art of colouring apples!

If you can't read the sentiment it says ' Too Cool For School'.

Well, don't forget to link your makes to the Customer Gallery as usual, but you might also want to check out the La-La Land Craft Group page on Facebook to join in with the fans and their Company page on Facebook to keep up with all the La-La Land Crafts news. For all you Twitter fans check out La-La Land Crafts on Twitter too.

Right, I'm off to stock up on some new pencils, I don't have kids and I'm not going back to school myself but who needs an excuse to go hang out in the stationery aisles?

Catch you later Artinators!

It's a new week and a new make from me for La-La Land Crafts. The theme over at the La-La Land Crafts blog today and on Friday is Buttons and Bows.

This week I've used the lovely summery Popsicle Marci.

The flowers have been made with the La-La Land Crafts Lotus Die.

The sentiment comes with Popsicle Marci.

She is gorgeous isn't she? I think she might be one of my favourites from the recent new release. Have you got any favourites from the new release?

Well, don't forget to link your makes to the Customer Gallery as usual, but you might also want to check out the La-La Land Craft Group page on Facebook to join in with the fans and their Company page on Facebook to keep up with all the La-La Land Crafts news. La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday

Hope you all had a good weekend and aren't suffering too badly from post-Olympic blues. It is going to be weird seeing London getting back to normal - well, until the Paralympics starts of course. It has been so nice and quiet in town, although I'm not so sure the businesses thought the same!

Anyway it is time for this week's La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday make and the inspiration this week is a colour combo - Yellow, White and Grey.

I've used lots of La-La Land Crafts Dies for this one.

So which dies have I used? Well there is the La-La Land Crafts Dress Form and one of the La-La Land Crafts Butterflies.

The flowers are all the made using the La-La Land Crafts Lotus Die.

Well, that is me starting my week, hope you all have a good start to your weeks and enjoy a creative Monday.

How To Keep The Detail In The La-La Land Crafts Hot Air Balloon Die

How about another tutorial? This one has been up on the La-La Land Crafts blog for a couple of days but I thought I would share it here too in case you missed it. If you remember my card from Monday using the La-La Land Crafts Hot Air Balloon die

you might also have spotted all the balloon detail too? The die is beautifully intricate with a filigree-like look to it, but you can also use it and keep the balloon whole too.

Let me show you what I mean.

You Will Need:
Spare paper
Paint
Glue stick
Die-cutting machine
Brush
Brayer

This is a great way to use up all those spare pieces of paper we all collect, you know the free ones, or the junk mail etc. You can even use newspaper. Use lots of the glue stick to stick the papers together building up the layers to around 8 layers depending on the thickness of the paper. Use the brayer between each layer to make sure you have a good fix with the glue. Let the paper dry to a semi-stiff piece of 'card'.

Once the glue has dried paint the surfaces of the 'card' with acrylic paints and let it dry.

Everything is dry so now we can use the die and the Die-cutting machine. I've used a Cuttlebug and you might want to do a trial run to see what works best for your machine. My sandwich is: the Spacer A; a piece of 290gsm card; the Thin die adapter C; the Die; the 'card' to be cut; the Cutting pad B.

Run the cutting sandwich through your machine 3 or 4 times until you can start to see the cutting pattern on the back of the 'card' and the excess 'card' has been cut away. If you are using newspaper you will need to be careful at this stage as it tends to be a bit softer so you might not get a clear cut to remove the excess 'card'.

Carefully remove the Hot Air Balloon from the die, as you have made the 'card' from layers the details should remain in place but if any of the pieces stay in the die you can stick them back to the Hot Air Balloon. You also have the option to fully remove any of the pieces you want to too, like I did for the 'strings' to the basket.

Hope you have fun with your dies and don't forget to link up any of your La-La Land Crafts makes to the Customer Gallery.

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday

Wahoo! Monday! Another week to start with La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday. This week the inspiration is 'More Than One Fold'.

I'll come clean - I've cheated! No multi-folded cards will be found here today. See if you can spot my 'More Than One Fold'...

I've used the La-La Land Crafts Hot Air Balloon Die for my make today.

I've kept all the die details in the balloon part and I'll be showing you how I did this later, so keep tuned!

You've spotted my extra fold then?

That is right, it is in the sentiment.

The papers are all Studio Calico again, loving the neutrals of the Classic Calico papers at the moment.

Right I'll catch you all later. have a fun Monday.

The stamp is one of the new La-La Land Crafts stamps - Daisy Faerie Marci.

You will spot some of the new La-La Land Crafts dies as well, I've used the Heart Fence Die and the Lotus Die. The papers are from Studio Calico and are just perfect for this monochrome make don't you think?
