Playing With Paint And Glue

I've been dropping subtle hints here on my blog over the last week or so that I might subject you all to my playing with paint and art journal pages. Well today is your lucky day got a mixed media journal page to show you!

I thought I would start with this piece as it directly inspired the recent mixed media gift box I posted not so long ago.

I would have called this piece 'Paris' except if you look closely at the map you will see it is actually an old UK road map, so perhaps I should call the piece 'Travel' or 'Road Trip' instead?

Playing with paint is such fun, I'm not totally sure if this page is finished yet but that is the great thing about having an art journal it never has to be perfect and you can add to it any time you want!

Have a fabulously painty day.
Kim

  4. Your mixed media work is just fantastic Kim. I love the Butterfly in your last post. The layering with the text and music paper looks fab and the colours are my favourites.
Thanks so much for sharing this journal page too. You've got a gorgeous amount of texture in it and the lace edge works beautifully. I'm in love with your swirl too. It's always the hardest part trying to think what to call a page isn't it!

  5. Hi Kim, I'm loving where you are going with your art, like the deep red peeking through, it was great on your mixed media bag as well. Received my Suzi Blu stamp (love yourself) and have been playing, I really like her she is so pretty, I just had to take the sentiment off, it was too limiting. :D xx
