A challenge card today taking inspiration from the Colour Create Challenge blog which is celebrating a fab 10k hits - well done guys. They have some blog candy to celebrate so hop over ASAP :)
These are colours I rarely use but really like so I had to have a go! I dug about in my stash to find a colour match and after much hunting I found the mix of papers you see on this card.
I've done some hand stitching on the card. For a bit of fun can you name the stitches? The first person who can name the three types of stitch I've used on this card will receive a little stash RAK from me :) So have a guess and leave me a comment or email me.
Materials:
Stamp - Sugar Nellie Gorjuss
Ink - VersaFine Onyx Black
Colouring - Derwent pencils; Prismacolor; Sansodor
Papers - HOTP; Papercraft Essentials cover gift; Others that I have no idea where they came from :)
Usual Suspects - Paper trimmer; Silicone glue; Double-sided tape
Other - Button; Shimmerz Flashee Fuschia; Embroidery thread; needles; Paper files; Seam ripper
So beautiful!! :D
ReplyDeleteBeen visiting your lovely blog for some time now, you do some really beautiful cards and are an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteSilly thing it's my first love of needlework that finally gets me to comment. The stitches you've used are running, blanket and herringbone stitch.
fabulous! Love the texture! mmm..now I see blanket stitch, maybe a running stitch and don't know what the last one is. I'll say zig zag, but I know that's not right! Great fun!
ReplyDeleteMust try some hand stitching:)

ReplyDeleteI think the answers have already been given but I will throw another guess out there just in case.
Running stitch (or Basting), Blanket stitch and a Catchstitch
I love the tips of her hair how gorjuss and I love your stitching wish I could have the patience to stitch! I love the design too. Not much not to love about this one, hugs Pascale
ReplyDeleteIve been beaten to it! Thanks for coming to my blog and commenting on my card. I think the stitches are running stitch, herringbone stitch and blanket stitch. i adore stitching on paper (3 years ago I would have said it was mad to do it1) I especially love it on scrapbook pages. Not tried blanket stitch on one but have done the others so thanks for the new idea :0)
ReplyDeleteI think your piece is just so adorable, Kim. I really only knew the name for the running stitch and the blanket stitch. I've done all three in years past. What a gorgeous work of art this is.
