Gingerbread Hearts

Mmm Gingerbread - yummy, I keep meaning to get some :)

So this stamp is Willow with Gingerbread Heart and is from Whiff Of Joy and I've used the fab sketch over at The Whiff Of Joy Challenge Blog this week as inspiration.

Yeah my stitching went a bit wonky as I was at the end of reel and I was too busy making sure that I did not run out of cotton to look where I was stitching, LOL! The stamp has been coloured with PrismaColor Pencils and Sansodor.

Have a lovely Gingerbread day.

Good News!

Thank You Everyone!

I wanted to give a Great Big Thank You to everyone of you who helped in the recent The Original Scrapbox 12 Blogs of Christmas Give Away.

We made the first target of 12,000 click counts and The Original Scrapbox will be donating an EZ View Desk to the Friends of Utah County Children’s Justice Center! Wahoo! Well done everyone!

Sad news though, we did not make the 25,000 hits for the second charity giveaway. BUT The Original Scrapbox are going to give the second desk to charity anyway! Isn't that fantastic? Thank You The Original Scrapbox!

If you have a charity you would like the second desk to go to please let Rachelle (Rachellethewriter(at)gmail(dot)com) know as she is going through the nominations now.

Rachelle has announced the winner of the EZ View Desk on her blog.

Whiff Of Joy Willow With Christmas Candle

Another Whiff Of Joy for you today and I think that this is one of my favourites from this year's Winter kit. Isn't she beautiful? This is Willow with Christmas Candle. I've matched her with Basic Grey Papers from the Boxer pack and I've stamped a music background and used stitching and distressing.

Also I thought that this would fit with the challenge over at Saturday Spotlight With Hidden Potential which is about your favoutite music - which for me is Christmas Music at this time of year LOL!

My Favourite all time Christmas tune being - The Pogues Fairytale of New York. Ok so this doesn't look very Pogues-like but I do also like Christmas Carols - so perhaps I can get away with it? Tee Hee!

I've coloured her with PrismaColor pencils.

The sentiment is also from Whiff Of Joy and I've been using my Bow-Easy™ Template again :)

Have a lovely Tuesday

Extreme Sewing

Hey Folks, Just thought I would share my Extreme Sewing Photo with you all. Lisa over at U-Handbag, a fabulous blog that I am a big stalker of (in a good way of course), has a competition running until the 20th December the first prize being a yummy Janome sewing machine.

The competition is to do some Extreme Sewing - Sewing in unusual places and there has been some wonderful entries so far on Flickr.

Here is my entry - Sewing on the Northern line on the Underground - just going on the Northern Line is extreme enough LOL!

David took the piccy - what a wonderful and patient boyfriend I have - 'Darling, I want you to take some pictures of me and my sewing machine on the tube.' He didn't even look surprised. LOL!

What Will Be In Your Christmas Stocking?

Hope you all had a good weekend. All finished your Christmas shopping I hope!

I have a Whiff Of Joy make for you today. I know my DT term has finished but I had the misfortune to have my DT packages go missing in the recent Postal strikes and Katharina has been ever so patient with me :)

I've still got some gorgeous Whiff Of Joy beauties from the Winter Kit to show which you can get individually and the Whiff Of Joy Christmas stamps are still at 20% off!

This stamp is Willow With Santa's Stocking.

Used my PrismaColor pencils to colour her.

With lots of stitching details.

Simon Says - Let It Snow

More snowflakes today and this one is for the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Challenges which is about 'Let It Snow'.

For today's card I have paper pieced the elegant Festive Winter Willow from Whiff Of Joy and layered her on a vellum background covered in glitter.

My rather dodgy photography doesn't show that her trim is given dimension with glossy accents and she has glitter on her holly berries.

I sat her on the Christmas present from the Whiff Of Joy Sled and added a little rosette with a Whiff Of Joy snowflake.

Have a snowflake day.
Kim

Materials:
Stamp - Festive Winter Willow, sled and snowflake from Whiff Of Joy
Ink - VersaFine Onyx Black
Colouring - PrismaColor pencils; Sansodor
Paper - K&Co
Usual Suspects - Paper trimmer; scissors; silicone glue; double sided tape
Other - Martha Stewart round the page punch; Ribbon; Stickles; Glitter; Glossy Accent glue; Seam ripper; Cuttlebug; Nestibilities Label Nine

Inky Impressions Challenge 25

Morning all, I'm really excited to be able to show you my first DT make for Inky Impressions Challenge blog. The challenge for the next two weeks is all about -

Snowflakes

I've used Rachel's Gingerbread Christmas which if you didn't know is actually a digi-stamp! Yay for Digi-stamps - instant stamping fix :) I am such a Digi-stamp convert now that I've found a paper to print on that will allow me to colour with Copics or Prismacolor / Sansodor without my printer ink smearing or bleeding. Wahoo!

I've kept the card quite simple and let the image do the talking! She is coloured with my Prismacolor pencils and I've layered her up and added glossy accents to the baubles and lights for that extra dimension.

Have you got your trees up yet?
Ours went up Monday night - yay! Ooo pretty!
Kim

Materials:
Stamp - Inky Impressions
Colouring - Prismacolor pencils; Sansodor
Usual suspects - silicone glue; paper trimmer; scissors
Other - Cuttlebug; embossing folder; glossy accents; computer; printer

Quixotic Paperie Challenge Blog Challenge No. 6

Hey All, How you doing? It is the Quixotic Paperie Challenge number 6 and this week it is all about:

Stars

Don't forget that this month everyone is playing for a Mystery pack of yummy crafty goodies worth £20!

So here is my make for the challenge - A big Christmas Star! Ooo and if you want to see more Christmas Stars have a look at the one Kelly from Crafting Creativity has done!

This star is an altered wooden star from Quixotic Paperie, with one of the super cute angels from the CC Designs Sugar Plums Angel Emma Stamp set. Love!

I punched holes in the star with my Crop-a-dile and then covered it with Gesso (the star - not my Crop-a-dile! LOL!).

Then stamped out the music background on ordinary paper with Versacolor charcoal ink. Don't look too closely as you will notice that I stamped one upside down - Oops!

I then cut out a star to cover the front of the wooden star and started to add colour with distress inks and Brilliance ink. Then gave it a Gesso wash and stamped over with a crackle stamp and light distress ink.

Using diluted PVA I attached the paper to the front of the wooden star and when it was dry - well almost dry, I'm so impatient - I used my piercing tool to poke the holes through the paper ready to thread the ribbon through.

The cute angel is coloured with Prismacolor pencils and Sansodor and then added some shine with a wash of Brilliance ink. I've also used Pixie Dust Shimmerz Blingz on her wings. The final touch is a little bit of Angelina Fibers behind her.

Have fun with your star projects.
Kim

Materials:
Stamps - CC Designs Sugar Plums Angel Emma Stamp set; Music background; Crackle background
Colouring - Prismacolor pencils; sansodor; brilliance inks
Papers - Homemade
Usual Suspects - Scissors; Silicone glue
Other - Ribbon; wooden star; Crop-a-dile; Versacolor charcoal ink; Distress inks; Brilliance ink; Gesso; Shimmerz Blingz; Angelina fibers

Need Help

Well that is so true on so many levels! LOL! But what I'm specifically talking about is The Original Scrapbox big Christmas giveaway to charity and blog hoppers. We desperately need more hits to reach our charity goals. If you had a moment would you mind visiting the website to boast our hits count?

We have approx 5,500 hits on the website but need 12k for our first target and 25k for the second target! The blog hop finishes on the 11th December.

To be in with a chance to win the desk you need to comment here.

Please spread the news!
Thanks guys, you are the best!

Back later with my DT make for this week's Quixotic Paperie Challenge.

More Chrimbo Cards

Will the Christmas cards ever end - I here you cry! Yeah I'm getting pretty desperate now - haven't sent any cards either LOL! Every year I think I will start earlier - but I never do do I?

This set of cards uses the ultra-versatile CC Designs Cookie Crumbs Reason For The Season stamp set which I think might be one of my favourites this season.

But I reckon that you can probably get away with using this throughout the year for baby cards as well - what you reckon?

Ok my sugar plums - you all have a good day
Catch yous laters
