Needle Felted Christmas

Well I'm a little later than usual with my posting today. On top of that I don't have a finished project to show you - Shock! Has the 20 cards marathon washed me out? Well perhaps, but the main reason is I've been a bit busy on other things - Double Shock.

I've been to a creative embroidery class, I'm starting next year and went along to meet the group - it was fab and perhaps if I manage to get anything done I will be able to show it on here at a later stage :)

So what is this image today? I thought I would play about with some needle felting on a stamped image and here was my first attempted. You might recognise the image as an Elzybells stamp - so cute. Stamped onto calico and filled in with wool tops and a felting needle. Then cut out carefully and mounted onto the image stamped onto card.

As I said - I was just playing about :)

Materials:
Stamp - Elzybells stamp art
Ink - VersaFine Onyx Black
Usual suspects - Silicone glue; paper trimmer
Other - calico; wool tops; felting needles; flower flock

Are They Almost Finished?

YES! I've almost finished ALL of my Christmas cards - Wahoo. I just have five more to do. Yesterday was a Marathon of cardmaking, which might explain why I've been a little quiet. I made 20 cards, the most I have ever made in one day. It was a complete production line of cutting, inking, stamping, glittering. I worked my way through a roll of double-sided tape, half a roll of glue dots and quarter of a tube of silicone glue :)

I would be really interested to know what is the largest number of cards you have made in one sitting? Is 20 a large number or a small number? It feels like a large number to me :)

Right, I have over 608 new blog posts to read in my reader :) But before I go if you haven't had a chance already, go pop over to the totally amazing Tim Holtz's blog where he is doing a '12 tags of Christmas' with blog candy, but be warned he is getting well over 2000 comments! WOW!

Materials:
Stamp - Magnolia
Ink - VersaFine Onyx black
Papers - Dovecraft Victorian Christmas

Very Shapely Kaboodle Doodle Challenge 13

It is cool not to be square (or rectangular) this week at Kaboodle Doodle. Shapely cards are the way to go and this card is for a little girl's birthday, the daughter of a friend, and is somewhat lion shaped :)

I've used the Animal papers from Kaboodle Doodle, printed to approx 4 inches tall and 5 inches wide and printing the head out three times. I then trimmed a straight edge along the side of the left leg through the head and stuck this against the folded edge of the card. I cut around the body and then layered up the head to give some dimension. The sentiment is a little flag attached to the tail.

He is so cute, I just want to keep him :)

Materials:
Paper - Kaboodle Doodle Animal Kit
Usual Suspects - silicone glue; glue dots; Trimmer; Scissors; Card
Other - Glitter glue

Civil Partnership Card

I was asked to do a card for a Civil partnership ceremony. Well actually I lie - I kinda volunteered myself with a rush of excitement as I've not done a Civil Partnership card before. The colour for the 'Civiling' (the name given to the ceremony by the happy couple - I think it will catch on) is red.

It was fun doing this card and of course I had to 'invest' in some new stamps for it - perhaps that is why I was excited - not that I need an excuse. LOL

Materials:
Stamp - CC Designs Glam Girls
Inks - VersaFine Onyx Black
Colouring - PrismaColor Pencils and sansodor
Usual suspects - 3D-foam; Double-sided tape; Silicone glue; Trimmer; Craft Knife
Other - Gems; Cuttlebug and embossing folder; Computer and Printer; Ribbon; Galaxy marker

And Now For Something Completely Different

Well it is still a card so it is not that completely different. So for something slightly different here is a lighthouse card. Specifically the Trevose Head lighthouse in Cornwall, I wanted a Cornish lighthouse as the person this card is for has a strong connection to Cornwall, I just hope they like lighthouses :)

Edit: Thanks Diane for reminding me to enter this to the BasicGrey challenge this week which is for the boys! Bless me I had checked out the challenges at the beginning of the week but was so obsessed with getting the commission done (well I had been mulling them over for a few weeks now and deadline was today!) it just dropped out of my head!

Colouring - Caran D'Ache coloured pencil and blending stump
Ink - VersaFine sepia
Papers - Basic Grey

All Dressed Up

What is this? Another card that has nothing to do with Christmas? Mmm there must be something wrong with me. Emma from Sassy Crafts sent me some Dream Street Papers for me to play around with, I hadn't come across them before but now that I have I really like them. She also has a sale on the papers this week so go check them out. So what do you think of this classy lady? She makes me think of a little girl dressing in her Mummy's shoes.

BTW there is still time to join in the fun over at Friday Sketchers which this week is being sponsored by Sassy Crafts and there is a gorgeous Sarah Kay stamp, papers and ribbons up for grabs - Fab!
