Kaboodle Doodle Challenge 11

Kaboodle Doodle is onto it's 11th challenge and this week it is all about Bling and Buttons. Well I think you can see the buttons? What about the Bling? A little bit of glittery sparkle highlighting some of the pattern detail on this fab Blossom Berry Bright Kit from Kaboodle Doodle. The image is also from Andrea's shop - isn't he cute?

And now a confession - I love buttons, I will even pick up buttons in the street - which my other half thinks is a disgusting habit. But it is amazing how many buttons are just running loose out and about :)

Materials:
Papers - Kaboodle Doodle Blossom Berry Bright
Colouring - Letraset Promarkers
Usual Suspects - Trimmer; double-sided tape; 3D-foam; silicon glue
Other - Stickles glitter glue; Buttons (oh lovely buttons)

No layering for Stamp Something Challenge

A quick post before I go off to my Embroidery Group Therapy - Hello, My name is Kim and I am a recovering embroiderer :)

So today's card is for the challenge over at Stamp Something and this week it is all about being simple, and you don't get much more simple than me ;)

The simple they are talking about is only using one layer of cardstock. So this card is stamped and coloured directly onto the card. I've used fun flock and glitter to highlight areas, which you might just be able to see in the close-up. The stamps were actually freebies from a magazine (can't remember which now - please forgive me) coloured with watercolours.

Materials:
Stamps - Freebies from a UK magazine
Colouring - Koh-i-nor watercolours
Usual Suspects - Er...white cardstock; trimmer; Ruler; Glue pen
Other - Glitter glues; Fun Flock; Black Fine marker pen; White galaxy marker pen

A PIF And A Sleepless Night.

Ok, so will someone tell me why I am wide awake at two in the morning? I went to bed fully intending to do the whole sleep thing, was even asleep for a few minutes, then BAM! I'm awake - so I lie there for a while trying to ignore the fact that I am awake but no good.

Well as I am here (and probably wont be in the morning) I have a PIF, or Pass-It-Forward, for you. I was PIF-ed (is that a verb?) by Allison over at Allison's Crafty Moments. So the idea is that the first three people who comment on this post will get some stamped images from me and then they have to do the same on their blog - offer a PIF that is, not stay awake 'til stupid hours in the morning.

It's a chain mail with stamped images :)

Right, gotta get me some sleep - if anyone could PIF that, I would be very grateful.

ZZZzzzzzzzz

Sassy Crafts DT Call - Round Two

I got through to the second round of the Sassy Cafts DT call. How cool is that? So the next challenge is to make a project without using any ready-made embellishments of any sort. So, for example, you can not use ribbon unless it is to turn into an embellishment. Mmm - Interesting!

I think I went a little mad and decided to do a little embroidery. So the sentiment is stitched onto card and the edges distressed then covered with crackle accents glue. The flowers where cut from the papers, edges distressed and then the centre is an embroidery knot. Just had to stitch a swirl in chain stitch and a buttonhole - a desire to put a buttonhole on a card had just overtaken me :) The two mini-buttons are also cut from the papers, edges distressed and covered again with crackle accents.

Materials:
Papers - K&Co. Classic K Bailey, McKenna and Life's Journey
Inks - Distress inks Walnut Stain; Tea Dye
Other - Embroidery thread; Needle; Pin; Inssentials Crackle Accents; White hammered card; silicon glue; Scissors; Paper trimmer; Cut-N-Dry Foam

Be Ready To Be Spooked - Kaboodle Doodle Style

There are some Spooky goings on other at the Kaboodle Doodle challenge blog this week with some free downloads to boot. Anyone having a spooky Halloween party would be glad of this scary banner. So get your costumes on and go satisfy that sweet tooth.....but beware of the bogey man!

I would do an evil laugh a this point but I'm not very good at them.

Materials:
Papers - Kaboodle Doodle Halloween kit
Ink - VersaFine Onyx Black
Other - ribbon; staples; glue

Take Care Of Your Garden

A Blooming Marvellous card for an avid Gardener, with a bit of a gardening twist. The card uses the Kaboodle Doodle Blossom Berry Bright kit with a watering can stamp from Elzybells Art Stamps. I had fun glittering the sentiment and the flowers on this one.

I made this a while back now for a birthday this month and I've been sitting on it so that it got to it's recipient before I posted it on my blog :) I made it such a long time ago that I almost forgot about it and just remembered before I made another one for the same person! Do you do that?

Materials:
Papers - Kaboodle Doodle Blossom Berry Bright Kit
Stamp - Elzybells Art Stamps
Colouring - Letroset Promarkers; Glitter
Other - Glitter; ribbon
