Summer Birthdays

Hot Summer colours for this one. A birthday card for a summer birthday and also for a challenge here and there. This one uses inspiration from Cute Card Thursday which has a birthday theme, then there is the 'Hot' theme from Papertake Weekly and Tag You're It have a Tag in a pocket Theme. The weird thing is I had already decided on the design of this card with the Tag and pocket idea and then it pops up as the theme at Tag You're It. How spooky is that? :)

So the papers come from freebies from Papercraft essential, I've cut out all the flowers so that I could re-arrange them on the page. The stamp is Chef Hamish from Sugar Nellie coloured with watercolour pens. The sentiment is written in the flower using a white Sakura pen.

Lemon and Lime

Celebrating a new birth in Lemon and Lime - what do you think? This card was made for the following challenges: the celebration theme from A Spoon Full of Sugar, the great sketch from Friday Sketchers, Baby theme on Thank God it's Friday and the new challenge blog This Thursday It's About which is starting with the theme 'Fresh'.

So this card uses free papers from Papercraft Essentials, Sugar Nellie Little Cotton Rabbits stamp coloured with watercolour pencils, DCWV card stock and then some fiskers embossing plates to emboss the rectangular yellow card. Some little doodling on the edges to finish the card. You know I still haven't worked out the best light to use to get a good photo.....

I've been sampled twice for this one. Thanks Guys :) This Thursday, It's All About and Thank God It's Friday.

Pink and green should never be seen

Here is a card for two challenge blogs. One is Cute Card Thursday (so just managed to make it in time) where the challenge is to have three embellishments. I've used three buttons to embellish the frame. Then the other blog is My Time To Craft which has a Buttons and Buckles theme. The buttons are counter balanced with a sentiment 'buckle' finished with rick rak and pink staples.

The stamped image was coloured using a mix of watercolour pencils and Marvy Le Plume pens and the chipboard frame and sentiment buckle were from Dovecraft. The paper and card was edged with a deep pink ink pad.

Pink, Pink, Pink

I made my first ever RAK card a few weeks ago, it is a bit of a pink one so I thought I might enter it into the Hint of Pink challenge from Arty Girlz. It is definitely PINK :)

So this card uses stamps from Stampendous and is coloured in with watercolour pencils. Flower background is made with flower stamps and butterfly stamps from the same set. Tearing, inking edges, ribbon and using safty pins with beads finishes this card.

My first...

Penny Black stamp was actually this 'Bare Tree' one, a recent buy that I've had my eye for a while and wanted an excuse to use it. Thought I would use it to have a go at the exciting first challenge from the new Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Thanks guys for an excuse to use the stamp :)

The Challenge over at Tag You're It this week is a fab colour scheme of Aubergine (eggplant), Olive and Ivory. What a great colour combo. Hope you like what I've done, it was fun to do.

So this tag was put together by stamping the image in aubergine onto white paper coloured with an olive ink pad. The corners were curled with a knitting needle and then the image was layered onto aubergine textured card. The corners of this layer were also curled. This was then in turn layered onto an olive, textured card stock tag and the edges coloured with a dark olive ink pad. Aubergine and ivory buttons and embroidery thread were used to embellish the tag. An aubergine coloured eyelet and some ivory, aubergine and olive ribbons and rickrack finishes the tag off.

Candy

Some more wonderful blog candy is up on the web. Take a look at these blogs....

Dreaming ATCs

A new week and a new ATC. The theme this week from Think Monday - Think ATC is 'Hands'

So this week I've continued my Indian Dreams themed ATC's using a hand as the main image, I expect I will at some point put the other ATC's in this series up :)

The background is coloured with blue and pink ink pads using a brayer and water spritzer. Small Indian style flowers are stamped onto the background in pink and blue and a border is embossed in silver. All the stamps used were from Avec.

Glitter glue, ribbons and a handwritten sentiment finish this ATC.

Seaside Dreams - Father's Day Card

This one was made for my Dad for Father's Day, inspired by shell stamps and knowing that beaches and holidays are amongst my Dad's favourite things, I hoped that it made him think of the sea and holidays :)

The card was made from shades of blue, torn edges, stamped with shells and accented with individual shells coloured lightly with pencils and then covered in three dimensional glue.

What goes around comes around

The challenge from Think Monday - Think ATC has the theme of circles this week. So here is my interpretation. The flower is stamped and coloured in with Marvy pens. The circle is coloured with an ink pad and the dots and doodles drawn in by hand.

Retro decor

This is a bit of a tongue in cheek 4x4 for Funky Fairy blog who are doing a Tri-challenge, so anything to do with 'Tri'. I have used triples with three birds and three colours. This 4x4 is also for the My Time to Craft challenge blog which this week has the theme of 'birds'.

So imagine yourself back in the late sixties, early seventies looking at your wall..... :)

Put together with stamping and pencil colouring. The birds are stamped, coloured, cut out and then covered in 3-dimensional glaze glue.

Faces ATC

This week's challenge over at Arty Girlz is a Faces theme.

So here is an ATC stamped with distress ink onto a distress ink coloured background. The two boys were then stamped using Marvy Le Plume pens and cut out and layered onto the background.

Apollo leads the way

So here is an ATC for the Theme Thursday Challenge which this week (well until tomorrow - better late than never) has a Man theme.

This ATC is coloured with green and purple distress inks using a spritzer and a brayer. Then stamped with the Harlequin pattern and the ornate borders. The Statue of Apollo is actually on a transparency and I've used 3-Dimensional glue mixed with cosmic shimmer to attach it to card coloured with the distress inks. Eyelets and sparkly elastic thread finish this ATC.

Chalk and Ink

Well, I've been experimenting with chalks. Not really used to them yet but having fun trying them out. So this travel-themed tag with the 'E' from explore was made for two challenges. The travel theme is from Thank God It's Friday and the monogram tag is the challenge over at Tag You're It! Actually this is my first tag as well. So a project of firsts :)

So first I coloured the paper with light brown distress ink and then stamped using a mask to create the 'E' on one side of the tag. The 'E' side was stamped with a map and the rest was stamped with various travel-related stamps in a random sequence. I then continued colouring using the masks and green distress ink.

Once the paper was dry I went about adding more colour with chalks. Having a change of heart, I cut the 'E' out, edged it with a sepia ink pen and layered it with foam next to the background to get the 3-D shape. Adding the pictures from some travel mini-postcards and finishing the tag off with an eyelet and some string.

Also put this up on the Trimcraft forum for a stamping challenge!

Thanks Thank God It's Friday for sampling my Tag :)

Eyelets ATC

Not been up to much craft-wise this week, hope to get something done this week. I have got a recently made ATC that uses eyelets that I thought I would put up onto the My Time To Craft Challenge blog.

The ATC uses K&Company papers with the the heart and key cut out and edged with pink ink pad. The whole ATC was edged with green ink pad.

Cherries are the only fruit....well at least on this card

Here is a card for the Stamp Something blog. I have a new cherries stamp so just had to try it out. The central panel is white stamped onto acetate overlaid on black card.

Tower ATC

This week's Think Monday Think ATC is about your favourite tower. Well being a Londoner it kinda had to be Big Ben didn't it?

Ooo look, look I've been sampled! Thanks guys at Think Monday - Think ATC.

Coaster...

Sweet Sugar Challenges has a great challenge to make something other than a card with Sugar Nellie stamps. So I decided to have a go at a coaster for cups :) So patterned paper has been layered onto a circular piece of chipboard and then sealed with a varnish (to waterproof it a bit). It was fun to do.

Blog Candy....

WOW there is some fab blog candy up on Little Bird Design blog. And there is an added bonus that the winners will make a card from the blog candy and then be in for MORE candy. How cool is that?

Time's a ticking.....

Friday Sketchers posted a great new sketch from guest designer Heidi and here is my interpretation of it. I went for a brown and green palette with distressing inks to age the paper and print the watch and words background on the cream (colour hasn't come out so well in the photograph) central panel. The prominent time-piece is stamped with stazon onto acetate and held in position with a brad, two more of which hold the sentiments. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Scarlett Letter range and also edged with distress ink.
